No One Knows

Looking up, I saw the clouds engulfing
The only star left in the sky.
My mind, constantly dragging me back to reality
What my heart tried to unsee.

Eyes shut, teeth clenched,
I tried to hold back my tears.
I looked around,
The wilted lilies danced as the gentle breeze blew
I had this grief in me that no one knew.

The night was soon about to say goodbye
But oh! If only I could hold her close to my bosom
And pluck the stars like flowers from the sky
Just to keep them alive.

Unable to be brave enough I cried
The other day.
I think someday I may even give in.
There's this voice inside my head that asks to let go
I have this grief in me that no one will ever know.
