Recently, as holiday homework, I was asked to write an article on the topic ' Indulgence of youth on the internet: boon or bane". I wrote this article though it got me thinking. The Internet has become a medium to blame for anything and everything we do. At times it might come across one of the hugest hypocrisy, but then there's no smoke without fire.

Internet is just a platform, and it could not be blamed for all the things that we do. People get mobbed,WhatsApp fake messages are blamed. People encounter trolls posting pictures on Instagram is accused. Someone fools people of giving cash prize and robs them off; the Internet is blamed for helping such criminals. Seriously? Are we guys so helpless that we keep blaming the platform which has made our lives easier for everything and all things?

Commonly, youngsters are victimized as the preys of the Internet. Parents feel so strongly that the only reason for the low grades of their child is due to the Internet. Every mistake if he is a consequence of indulging on the Internet. But, they are not at fault. This is because we have given them a chance to say so.

We have the responsibility of being its consumers to use it properly. Internet is half boon and half bane. The path you make is your choice. So, here are some ways you can use the Internet in productive ways:

Internships:

There is plenty of work from home internships available on the platform. You can find internships paid and unpaid on the Internet according to your category of interest. You can use these to shape up your career or even do it as a hobby. Internshala, indeed being some firms you can try.

Learn:

It should not only be used as a medium to copy answers and do projects. Bit, the Internet can be used as a source for learning. There are online courses available according to the time you have presently. Use it as a medium to improve your knowledge. Also, when you have a doubt google it then and there. This helps retaining data quickly.

Create Contacts:

It is a platform where you can find plenty of people with knowledge and experience in fields you like to pursue in the future. Try to keep track of them and talk to them for your better careers. This will also help your communication skills and also give you inputs for your future. Quora,LinkedIn might help you with this.

Invest Time in Reading:

Read about things you love and want to know about. If you don't like natural way if researching, then go for reading words online. Read articles, books, and news online be up to date.

Share:

Mere manufacture is not enough, but marketing should also be done correctly. So, share the knowledge that you gain from this medium with others and give them an example that everything could be used for better if we want to. So that next time you use your phones elders won't come bashing you.

PS : ENTERTAINMENT IS ALLOWED.

After all, the Internet is run by you:

The creator and the consumers.
