Self Portraiture Aka Selfie

This mere term has become an emminent part of our lives but only a few know the origins of the same. Selfies can be commonly explained as any picture taken by oneself at an arm's distance without any assistance.

Although the craze of these self portraits may seem as new, its origins dates back to as long as 1839.

Yes you heard it right!!
The first selfie was taken back in the year 1839 by Robert cornelius, a passionate photographer by occupation, who was successful at creating a daguerreotype although with a much slower pace that allowed him to uncover the lens, go stand and pose for a specific amount of time and again cover the lens.

This apparently new idea just got old and in amelioration to this rather creative act a teenage in the year 1914 named grand duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna clicked her selfie Infront of a mirror to send this to one of her friends and thus went on to become the first teenage in an era to achieve this feat.

.A similar feat was performed by a group of photographers specifically a group of five men who now even run a company of their own since ages after they clicked a selfie .The selfie of five men was all about holding a big antiquated analogcamera on the roof of Marceau studio.

The main breakthrough happened when kodak brownie box camera was launched for the first time in history in the 1900's.

The accessibility of front camera backed mobile phones in the market increased this craze even further and it is no exception that the features of front cameras in smartphones today are better than featues of the back camera,many of the smartphone companies have added features like AI keeping in mind the high demand of better selfie smartphones.

This can be accredited to the launching of the first Sony Ericsson set namely Z1010 featuring front camera facility for the first time.

Proliferation of revolution in the mainstream society is Cardinal but not at the cost of human emotions and life.The selfie has led people into clicking a plethora of digital images without really enjoying the serenity of the place they visit.It has led them to believe in the fake notion of popularity on social media.People now applaud the aesthetic side rather than the work a person does.The fake idea of popularity thus dents loneliness and has exponentially increased and if not selfie but advent of digitisation and fake notion is a cause if not wholly ,partially for sure.

After all as an adage goes too much of anything is bad as little.
