Introduction

Body shaming is the action or practice of humiliating someone by making critical and teasing comments about their body shape and size.

It is criticised publically for being too fat or too thin. It is done everywhere, it can happen to me, to you, your friends, your family, your colleagues.

Body shaming is wrong, it doesn’t just happen to celebrities. Maybe people who participated in body-shaming are insecure and are simply doing it to feel themselves better.

Body shaming we all need to stop-

1. Focusing on dieting rather than nutrition -

Our body runs like an engine, which means it needs a stable flow of fuel to reach it’s full potential, one of the main source of fuel is food. Because of this, nutrition fields should include variety and offer an array of vitamins, fiber, fats , and carbohydrates.

Eat more protein content and have a rich protein diet like eggs, milk, etc.

2. Not knowing our own bodies-

If we want to know how deep rooted body shaming has become, we stop one self from spending time exploring our body and consequently limit out understanding of ourselves.

3. Judging for conforming behaviours, despite understanding the pressures they face from society-

When we judge someone what they are wearing outfit, commenting on their makeup, or for wearing high heels, we are involving in a form of body-shaming .

Body shaming we all need to do-

1. Do something that makes you feel pretty-

Get your haircut done, treat yourself to a manicure, wear your favourite outfit, do makeup of your choice.

Match your footwear with your outfit to look beautiful.

2. Identify who in your life is body positive-

Think of people who love their body. Spending time with these people can be helpful while you are struggling with your own attribute to body shaming, and help you view yourself and others more positively.

3. Find something you like about yourself-

We spend much time on watching videos and advertisements about how to make our eyelashes and how to get curled or straightened hair.

Dress nicely and maintain your aura.

Yoga gives your body a shape-

Yoga, train us to move out of the mind and into the body.Yoga is a mixture of physical, mental and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated earlier.

The association between shame and the body is so deeply rooted that we had developed habits of judging the body.

Just a glance-

Typically, people are body shamed when they appear overweight or underweight or don’t fit society’s view of “thin and beautiful”. Our culture loves the beliefs of a perfect body, whether it be in magazine, movies, television, or online, seeing someone who doesn’t fit the mold isn’t considered acceptable to some.
