A Guide To Harry Potter Spells!

Hermoine: Stop, stop, stop. You're going to take someone's eye out and besides, you're saying it wrong. It's Leviooosa, not Levio- saaar!

Who remembers this scene from Harry Potter and the sorcerer's stone the first part of the Harry Potter series?

I have watched it more than ten times but I still feel the same rush and excitement that this movie gave me for the very first time, whenever I watch it again. Every aspect of this movie is perfect. Some dialogues hold such pure meaning behind it that it has created a great impact on peoples lives. Most of the Harry Potter fans know every scene by heart from how the Marauder's Map works to who tried to Kill Dumbledore. They know it all.

But have you ever wondered what each spell in the movie does? Ever felt like pretending to be Harry and casting spells on " The one who must not be named "!?

So, Potter head's here's a list of some of the spells and what they do :

1. Wingardium Leviosa :
This spell introduced in the first part of the Harry Potter series where Hermoine teaches Ron how to call out the spell.

This spell has the power to make any object levitate in the air. It is also called as the hover Charm!

2. Alohamora :
The spell Alohamora was introduced by Hermoine when the three of them accidentally entered the third floor's restricted section while running from Mr Filch.

Hermoine used this spell to unlock the door in the restricted area.

3. Accio :
This spell can order any object to come towards the person who has cast the spell.

4. Obliviate :
This spell makes a person lose his memories about the recent events that happened. This spell was used in the movie "Fantastic Beasts and where to find them" By Newt to Obliviate the whole city after the muggles ( a person who is not a wizard ) witnessed the wizarding world.

5.Expelliarmus :
This spell was first used by Professor Snape who defeated Gilderoy Lockhart the defence against the dark arts teacher in the 2'nd part.

This spell is used to take away the enemy's weapon or to disarm.

6.Sectumsumpra:
This spell is one of the powerful spells which is used to create deep wounds or cuts on the opponent's body.

7. Riddikulus:
This spell is used in defence to a Boggart ( a boggart is something that does not have a definite shape it takes the form of anything that you fear the most ). This spell can make it go away.

8. Incendio:
This spell creates fire.

9. Avada Kedavra:
This is the second most powerful spell and one of the three curses which were banned by the Ministry of magic. It is a spell for Death. This was used by Lord Voldemort to kill Harry but which he survived. This spell gave Harry the mark on his head.

10. Expecto Patronum:
This is the final and the most powerful spell of all. This spell helps to call out for a guardian spirit that helps a person from the soul-sucking Dementors. The word means," I hope for a patron ".

This spell was used by Harry in the third part the prisoner of Azkaban to protect him and Sirius Black from the dementors.
