Why BTS is an inspiration and famous amongst youngsters around the world?

Someday if our existence, our stage, our photos or videos... if all that can help you even just a little, if your pain is 100 on the scale of 100, if we can lessen that to 99, 98, or 97... if we can only make it like that, with that the value of our existence is enough. - Kim Namjoon

Bangtan sonyeondan, or popularly known as BTS, is a worldwide sensation at the moment. These seven members, namely Kim Namjoon, Kim Seokjin, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung, Jeon Jungkook that make the group, are currently living at the peak of their lives. And behind these camera flashes, wide smiles, world records, and confident steps are their forever support their fandom, ARMY.

All their fans genuinely support them, and the people they stan, stan them back. Just take a look at their latest mv ‘ARMY with luv’ just to see the amount of love they carry for their supporters. They are hardworking, loving, caring and good men and deserve all the love and support given to them.

BTS’s late popularity was mainly due to their origins being a small company called ‘Bighit’. Who knew then that these boys would be so influential to the generation as to be featured in the ‘Times 100 most influential people in the world’?

Even after their rocky start, plagiarism, misogyny scandals (that they apologized for) BTS made a point to reach the very top by connecting to the youngsters and addressing the problems of the society around the world.

Their lyrics
Many love these boys for their appealing looks, their amazing performances, and their beautiful voices.

But BTS, along with love songs also write lyrics and sing about topics that can be considered taboo in Korea. They talk about the stress on the young generation, the suppression and the self-hate that prevails in today’s society. Their last album ‘LOVE YOURSELF’ had been received by the audience with such enthusiasm and love that it was record-breaking.

Few of their lyrics that I love:

Song: N.O
A good house, a good car, will these things bring happiness?
In Seoul to the SKY, would your parents be happy?
Dream is gone, no time to breathe
School, house and PC room is all we have
We live the same life
And have to become number one
For us it's like a double spy between dream and reality

Who is the one who made us into study machines?
It's either number one or a failure
They trap us in borders, the adults
There’s no choice but to consent

Even if we think simply, it’s the survival of the fittest
Who do you think is the one who makes us step on even our close friends to climb up? What?

Adults tell me that hardships are only momentary
To endure a little more, to do it later

Everybody say NO!
It's not going to work anymore
Don't be captured in others dreams

Now, who wouldn’t feel these lyrics? If you are being crushed under the parental and society’s pressure to do better, anyone can feel these in their core.

Another one of their songs that’s got heart-warming lyrics is LOVE MYSELF.

Loving myself might be harder
Than loving someone else
Let’s admit it
The standards I made are more strict for myself
The thick tree rings in your life
It’s part of you, it’s you
Now let’s forgive ourselves
Our lives are long, trust yourself when in a maze
When winter passes, spring always comes

The me of yesterday, the me of today, the me of tomorrow
(I’m learning how to love myself)
With no exceptions, it’s all me

Well, these lyrics brought a lot of people a big dose of confidence in their daily lives. Some felt these words so deeply, that they have tattoos made with these lyrics on their skin. Though, if you aren’t allowed to do that, I suggest you stick to writing them down in your journal.

A bonus song
song: SPRING DAY
Miss you
Saying this makes me miss you even more
Miss you
Even though I’m looking at your photo
Time’s so cruel, I hate us
Seeing each other for once is now so hard between us
It’s all winter here, even in August
My heart is running on the time
Alone on the Snowpiercer
Wanna get to the other side of the earth, holding your hand
Wanna put an end to this winter
How much longing should we see snowing down
To have the days of spring, Friend

Like the tiny dust, tiny dust floating in the air
Will I get to you a little faster
If I was the snow in the air

Snowflakes fall down
And get farther away little by little
I miss you (I miss you)
I miss you (I miss you)
How long do I have to wait
And how many sleepless nights do I have to spend
To see you (to see you)
To meet you (to meet you)

With songs so beautiful, it’s not such a hard choice to love these boys.
Their advertisements
Any ARMY reading this that stays updated on social media knows the power of BTS when they take on endorsements. Even the unexpected ones… like the ‘Downy fabric laundry detergent’. Jungkook unintentionally dropping the name of his laundry detergent caused a shortage in its availability. It had sold out that fast!

The ‘Hyundai palisade’ endorsement was such a huge deal, Hyundai actually had difficulty keeping up with the demands for it. They clearly did not imagine much about BTS’s power when they started the production at a normal rate. Customers had to wait as long as 6 months for their cars.

Among many other ads, BTS collaborated with LG, and guess what? Yep, SOLD OUT! It was limited edition and available within a short period of time in last September. But I think that it’s no shocker, after all, its BTS.

And if these things do not prove their influence then I don't know what can. And these aren’t even their actual accomplishments as a k-pop boy band.

A interview with Min Yoongi

Their constant messages to love yourself, their contribution at UNICEF, their donations done from their own pockets on their birthdays, or a part of their album money being given out to people in need is another reason to love these guys.

We can only conclude that currently, BTS is surely meriting of their ‘influential’ title.
