Mystery Or Melancholy? - Part 1

She was a bachelor living alone in a hostel room with no other roommate. Loneliness or solitude, I don’t know what she preferred or suffered from. She was sleeping now but the frown told me that the dream was not going well. I didn’t mean to spy on her but as I was gliding through the buildings, the light in this room attracted me days ago and now here I am.

This room was situated on 3^rd floor of this hostel and had stairs and lift both. Most of the time, the stairs were left unused, so I used to hang out there undisturbed. From last few days, I meet this girl everyday while she commutes back and forth between hostel and college. She is always shaking slightly. In the beginning, I thought, she might be able to feel my presence and is scared but when she continued to go that way even when I was far away from that place, I suspected something else.

She is a small girl who walks with her heads bent and the glasses on the peak of her nose. She is always carrying a bag with lots of books but I have never seen her opening those books once. It seems as if she is doing all this just for the sake of doing something. She never talks much with anyone and is always sitting in a corner lost in her own world. This girl was a mystery in herself.

Mysteries have the tendency to give birth to curiosity. I was left curious and the mystery was killing me. I decided to go away from that place rather than to indulge in someone else’s life but failed to keep my mind off that girl. Now I have finally decided that I will follow her. Maybe someone was scaring her and that’s why she is always on nerves.

Next day.

Today, I was following her the whole day but she was unable to discover me. Once or twice, she looked back but I was able to hide myself in time. Some people tend to see me even though I am invisible to most. Her day was as normal as any teenager of her age. She went to college, attended her classes, took notes and when time came, returned back to her hostel.
