Booklover is a word that presents in mind a person who is surrounded by books all the time. Well, let me tell you that you are not entirely wrong on this front. Not all the time, but yes you might find a book lover most of the time surrounded by books. The books need not be hardcopy, but you will find them reading on their phones, tablets or kindle as well. You won’t even know the stories that are churning in their mind while they sit just smiling or contemplating in a corner. And for those times when you don’t find a book with them, trust me they are either talking to their favorite character or contemplating the next turn of the story.

So if you want to befriend those souls lost in a fictional world, I will suggest some ways you can use to seep into their world and merge the two worlds as you want to.

1. Read some books

First of all, if you want to initiate a conversation with a book worm, you’ll need to know what books are and what do they mean to the person you are intending to disturb with your presence. So, Go and read some books.

2. Gift them books

What is the best gift for booklover?

Obviously, books.

If you want to gift on, then choose books to gift. But then the question arises which one to choose? Well you can choose any of the classics and they will always keep them happy (even if those classic and special editions would sit on the shelf, it will give them immense pleasure just to sit and stare at them)

3. Don’t ignore their recommendations

Yes.

If you ask a booklover for your suggestions, then be serious and try to read the book before you bring up the topic of books next time because it is unlikely that they are going to forget their suggestions. And it is for sure that they will ask you whether you have read that book or not.

4. Discuss about books

They just love discussing the book they have recently read. They like to read about their favorite characters and then discuss about them. The more you know about their favorite characters, the more you have to talk about with them. Otherwise, you both can go back to stare here and there, and maintain that awkward silence.

5. Don’t disturb their silent brooding

Never. Never ever disturb a booklover who is brooding over the death of their favorite character or the next book in the sequel. They will get irritated by you and recline back into their cocoon where your name will be on the top of the block list.

*blocked*

6. Listen to their hysteric descriptions or analysis of the story

If you want to befriend a bookworm, then get ready to listen about lots and lots of descriptive talks about the situations that will seem otherworldly to you. No, they aren’t using some extra-terrestrial language, they are just talking about the story they have just finished.

The book readers need some way to express out all the emotions that have been building while reading the book. The best way to express that is by talking it with someone close, so if you are even hearing all that rant then trust me you already are inside the inner circle, don’t try to get impatient or you’ll end up getting barred from there.

7. Take them to book clubs

Every booklover wants to go into a book discussion once at the very least and the best place for a live book discussion is the book club. There they get to meet people like themselves who find peace in reading books. It is like a party to them, so don’t get scared if you find them getting ready for book clubs like a house party.

8. Inform them about book sales

Book sales!!!
These might be the best things that the booklovers cum hoarders want to hear after books. As the number of books and the budget for books is in contrast, booklovers keep searching for book sales to fit in some more books in their already full cart. If you are the one who keeps them updated about them then you might as well be like an idol to them.

9. Book fairs

The book fairs present fabulous opportunities for the bookworms to get into some new books and publishers. It is like a feast for them where they spend hours and hours strolling along with the cart full of books. They wander far off counters, look at the precious and beautiful books, read the blurbs, find the intriguing ones and then include them in their bookshelf.

10. Take them to their favorite author

If you ever get a chance to meet any author, then do take your reader friend alongside. They may refuse to budge out of their comfy reading corners but once they have started the journey, they will be the most excited ones. The admiration for their favorite authors is visible in their excitement which then turns into anxiousness. The result might be the awkward silence when the time to meet the author comes, so make sure that you get a signed copy at least.

I hope you all loved reading this wrytup. Please share it with your booklover friends whom you would like for being your friend. Also, do tell any other point that I might have missed in the comment box.
