In China, the number 4 is known to be unlucky because the pronunciation of four in China is similar to that of Pronounciation of Death. You can not find "4th" in escalator or rooms.

If it is about good luck, then it is number 8 because eight’s Pronunciation is similar to that of wealth or prosperity. Even the Olympics in Beijing commenced at 8:08 pm on August 8, 2008.

Wearing a moustache is considered bad luck

In China, You can hardly find any man having a moustache. It is known to be unlucky to have a moustache. Even if you want moustaches, you should have well trimmed ones.

Sweeping on new year is not good:

It is believed in China that sweeping on a new year takes away all the good fortune along with it. Thus, the sweeping should be done on the day before the new year.

Eating noodles in china is not easy

It is said that eating uncut noodles is considered to increase longevity and if it is cut, it will cut the longevity too. Sometimes, people may choke or cough if the noodles are not cut.

Giving clocks as gift is unlucky

In China, it is said that if we give a clock or any device which has time in it, then we are calling early death for them. It's only related to time, that the person is no longer with us. Hence, it is said not to gift a clock to friends or family.

Bed should not face door or mirror

The bed should be facing the wall but not the door or the mirror. This is because it is believed that you are opening a gate for evils to come in.

Second hand stuff brings degradation

It is believed in China that buying second hand stuff brings degradation and loss of face for the person. Apart from this, it is also said that buying the stuff means taking their bad luck along with you.

Red is considered good for new year

In China, you can find everyone wearing red color as the color red is said to be lucky and bring good fortune to the family.
