Korea has a variety of cultures, traditions and values. There is one more thing that Korea does very well, FESTIVALS.

Festivals in Korea are not only fun and entertaining but serve as an exciting way to immerse yourself in the local culture.

Here are certain list of festivals which you can only experience in South Korea:

Mountain Trout Ice Festival

This has become a major festival in Korea. According to CNN international, this festival is one of the "seven wonders of Winters". The region is first in Korea that is first freeze in winter and the river is covered with a thick layer of ice. People here can try out fishing and even if you want and is brave, you can touch the mountain trout with bare hands.

Boryeong Mud Festival

The Boryeong Mud Festival is a hottest global event which takes place during the summer in Boryeong, a town around 200 km south of Seoul, South Korea every year. Boryeong is beautiful as there is mountains and beaches. It is mud festival takes place on Daecheon beach. Participants slap on mud packs made from Boryeong mud. Also, there is Mud wrestling, Mud sliding and Mud swimming.

Jungnang Rose Festival

An annual rose festival at the Rose Tunnel (5.15km) in Jungnang-gu, where roses of different kind bloom every May. Here, you can watch special parade and performances and shows related to rose theme. Apart from this, there is rose market which sells soap, perfumes etc during this festival.

Seoul International Fireworks Festival

Every year, In front of the 63 City building in the city's Hangang Park,the people of Seoul get together to enjoy an incredible and amazing firework display by Hanwha Company. This is the best fireworks which takes place in Seoul because the fireworks are accompanied with screens, music, and lasers and many people or tourists came here to witness this festival.

Andong Mask Dance Festival

Although the highlight of the festival is the Korean talchum (mask dance), but now performers from different countries show off their masked performances as well. Besides mask dancing, the festival show up ancient rituals such as Lotus Lantern and Bonpae ceremonies, Songhwanggjae and Shamanism rituals.Also, Naebanggasa chanting contest, and other colourful performances also takes place and Traditional music are played with folk instruments.
