Chinese food is one of the most important parts of the Chinese culture. The history of Chinese food is around 1000 years old with their unique cooking style, ingredients and other stuff evolving with time.

Kung pao chicken

This is popular among Chinese and foreigners and its speciality is in Sichuan-style. This dish has ingredients like fried peanuts, dried chilli and diced chicken. It is a perfect combination of sweet, sour and spicy flavour and is highly addictive.

Spring rolls

These are the dim sums of cylindrical shape and are filled with vegetables or meat. The taste could be either sweet or spicy. Although the dish is popular in China, but is eaten all over the world.

Chop suey

This dish is one of the most mouth watering cuisines of China which has various elements in it like noodles which are crispy fried, and chinese gravy which is prepared with cabbage, shrimp, chicken and other vegetables in it. It has a strong flavour of tomato, chilly and garlic. It is served with omelette.

Dimsums

Momos we eat are officially dimsums in China. While in India, it is eaten like a junk food but in China, they are eaten as a tea-time snack and are of various types such as sweet and spicy. There are various varieties available such as Vegetable, Paneer and chicken.

Hot Pot

The origin of the dish is North China but now is eaten in both north and south China and is one of the most popular dishes in China nowadays. This cuisine is also trending during festival days as it is believed that booming hot pot is a symbol of booming luck and prosperity.

Ma Po Tofu

This dish is also known as Ma Po's bean curd and is very famous and a spicy dish among the people of Chengdu. This is a homemade dish and can be cooked easily. The ingredients of this food includes tender bean curd which is set in a spicy and bean-based sauce and mostly cooked with meat that is pork, beef or any other minced meat.

Pecking Roasted duck

This is a famous dish that comes from Beijing and is prepared since the imperial era. It is mainly liked because of its crispy meat. The dish is often served with soy sauce with garlic and pancakes.

Wontons

In China, it is a custom to eat Wontons in the winter solstice since Tang dynasty. The shape of Wontons is mainly a triangle and is served in soups or sometimes it is fried too. Although, they are similar to dumplings but the wonton is always filled.
