Words have a deep impact on us. Like people, books come into our lives and teach us invaluable lessons. For me, books tell me that there are all kinds of people in the world with their innumerable flaws and that it is okay to be that way as long as you love yourself and don't hurt anyone.
A good book is like a best friend- it would never turn back on you, it would never hide anything from you and even if you stay away for long, you can pick it up from right where you left it.
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
Cath taught me it's okay to be an introvert. It's okay to not know things that most people know about. It's okay to speak up your mind. But most importantly, she taught me that you can change and adapt and still be the same. She taught me it's okay to grow at one's own pace.
2.The DUFF: Designated Ugly Fat Friend by Kody Keplinger
Bianca taught me self love. That whatever happens, it's important to love oneself and stand up to bullies. It taught me how to deal with bad body image and social taboos.
3.The Perks of being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
Charlie taught me patience and love. He taught me it's okay to be weird and we are who we are for a reason. He taught me it's okay to seek professional help to recover from one's trauma.
4. Life is what you make it by Preeti Shenoy
Ankita taught me that it's important to acknowledge mental illness like any physical illness. It's important for our society to grow above the stigma of mental health and treatment.
5.Veronika Decide to Die by Paulo Coelho
Veronika taught me that even if due to some reasons one decides to end one's life, one should try to seek help and care required because it's just a bad phase and it will surely end and life will give us so much to look forward to.
