City Buses Running In Pune City

A comman man travels half his life in the public transport. The use of public transport is done by more than half of the population of any particular city. The higher class people have their private vehicles to travel in the city while the upper middle class people on an average travels with online booked taxis. For middle class people having all options available like online booked taxi, auto or the best would be city bus. The people travelling with city buses are youth, married people, college going students, old and handicapped people. For the comfort, few AC buses are also running but for few routes only. These have separate seats, rules and fares as compares to the ordinary ones.

The city buses have special facilities for pregnant ladies, old folks, handicapped ones, differently abled citizens. The seats are made different for these special people. There are also special fares for children below 5 years of age and old age people above 60 years of age with age proof. An electronic machine is used for tickets, which has a fixed fare according to stops and distance. These facilities make it comfortable for everyone travelling. The people in the city are so helpful and understanding that the special seats are exchanged for old people and pregnant ladies travelling in the bus.

There are special routes which are mapped in the city for the buses. The routes are called BRT which stands for Bus Rapid Transit system. Stations are made at every point for people to board in and get down. These stations have automatic doors which open after the bus comes and stops. Even the buses have automatic doors which can be controlled by the driver when the stop comes. Each route has a number assigned to know the particular bus and its route. The bus timings can also be seen on google maps also after entering the location.

The buses run time to time at every corner of the city. The count of buses running in city are 1382. According to a survey, everyday around 900,000 people travel through these buses. The conductors are always helpful all the time when we have confusion. These buses are running at every 500 m distance of any corner or road so we can catch up any time. The total routes are 371 in the whole city for buses. These buses run from 5:30 morning till 12-1 midnight everyday without any holiday for any government holiday, sundays or even strikes. It seems to be favourable transport in Pune due to all the facilities.
