Political ignorance is an emerging problem in India. It is a behavior of people for doing nothing and to occasionally criticize the government and politics with their hollow knowledge and regretting for the country for not being greater. A country can grow when its people understand the worth and here specially talking about our own country India, our people do not know the real worth of them and their country. They find it easy to criticize but not to step up and bring the revolution because they know they would be silenced to the death if they will speak up against the government. Political system of India has become a joke to everyone where for the power anyone can be murdered and this is the reason why people are not involved in politics. Especially, the youth; if you ever visit your college canteen start a conversation of politics and within 5 minutes, everybody will start to divert the topic.

Imagine, a family of five; father would know everything about politics, mother would know barely know anything and children would completely know nothing except the names of PM and President. This is not just an imagination but the truth. No one these days, especially, the youth takes interest in politics. We think youth must be actively participated in politics to bring fresh ideas and build good mechanism; they are parting themselves from the name of politics. The reason is of course, the emerging gist of the system. The gist is even scarier than we thought politics would be.

In India, Once a politician, always a politician. It is a fact beyond the constitution. In India, if you are even a Sarpanch, you and your upcoming generation will get benefitted enough or more than that. In India, being born with the political background matters most than being born with talent and skills. This is called dynastic politics.

Eventually, if someone from a non political background enters into the politics; he has to prepare himself for all the life insecurity to his/her family. Merely fresh ideas and the vision for different mechanism is not enough, you have to earn power before being into the actual power. So, it is obvious that such political scenario would scare anybody.

One of the reasons that youth are not engaging themselves into politics is the disrespect of their political opinion. Before casting the vote, an individual should well evaluate the performance of the politician they are going to vote. But instead of such healthy activity, usually, the head of the house imposes his opinion on everyone and so everyone does. In this way, nobody is being allowed to express their political views which eventually kill the interest of others into politics.

So, basically, to nourish the knowledge and to keep people active towards politics, they should be given a platform to express their thoughts. This could start from our own home; parents should let their children know that how politics directly or indirectly affects everyone’s life. In schools and colleges, group discussions, annual debates and such competition can help. But the most importantly, an individual should know the power as a citizen of country and as a voter as well.

So, instead of being ignored by the government, a citizen should raise their voice on the important topics and compel government to notice. To enter into the politics, campus politics is a good medium which should be more systematic, secure and strong. A well developed mechanism should be there to secure the political interest and establish position so youth can interest even more. Once such change would introduce, youth will start participating more.
