Status Of Martial Arts In Bollywood Industry

Martial arts can be defined as the various activities that includes fighting techniques, physical exercises, and various methods which enhances themental discipline. The origin of martial art is still complicated however, it is believed that its origin is somewhere linked to Asian countries of China and India. Irrespective of its origin in Asia it is used today around the world for self-defense, exercise, health, spiritual growth etc.

The most popular martial arts around the world includes Taekwondo, Karate, Kung fu, Muay Thai, Judo, Mixed martial arts etc.

Most of the martial arts are quite unknown to Western countries but after World War 2 it started to spread in the world gradually. During 1970s martial arts were started to promote through television shows or films.

Hollywood started to promote martial arts in movies with the help of legendary actors like Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Chuck Norris, Jett Lee etc.

And if Hollywood had made this far why Bollywood be in a back foot. Bollywood too started to involve with the martial arts.

Today most popular martial art actors includes Tiger Shroff, Akshay Kumar and Vidyut Jamwal with their charismatic ability and talents in both field of martial art as well as acting.

Nowadays, martial art has become fantasy in action movies and in Bollywood too, almost every actors goes through series of trainings to gain specialized skills to createsome hardcore fighting scenes.

Lets take a close look at some of the legends of Bollywood who have made this journey of bringing and promoting martial art in Bollywood possible.

1)Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar have got Black belts in Shotokan Karate and also learned Muay Thai. We've seen the star in action since his 'Khiladi' days. The glorious action hero is trained in Muay Thai, the most deadliest martial arts form from Thailand, while he was in Bangkok, before joining Bollywood. He also runs many martial arts academies all over the country and has opened a women's only self-defence centre recently in Mumbai.

2)Tiger Shroff

The son of legendary actor honourable Jackie Shroff, Tiger Shroff has achieved Black belts in Taekwondo, one of the most popular form of martial arts which was originated in Korea. He had started to learn martial arts since he was at the age of 14. He is a gymnast too. We have seen his kicks, punches and flips in almost each and every films including Heropanti, Baaghi, Flying Jatt, Baaghi 2 etc. He himself choreograph the stunts and actions for his films.

3)Vidyut Jamwal

Another ace Martiial art practitioner, Vidyut has been learning martial arts since the age of 4. He had learned Kalaripayattu, the mother of all martial arts which was originated in India itself. He didn't hone the skill for a particular movie but to enhance his own technique in one of the most prominent forms of martial arts in India. In many movies like Commando, Force we got to see the skills and the craze of martial arts by this legend.

There are many other actors as well in Bollywood who have done trainings in some forms of martial arts. Various actress also gained some skills in this field of martial arts. The actors includes Sunil Shetty in Judo and Kickboxing, Ajay Devgan in Taekwondo. The actress includes Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Nargis Faakhri etc.

Like Hollywood, Bollywood is also climbing a huge steps of success in the field of action. It got a huge range of talents in the field. The youngsters are also showing their interests in this field taking the legends as the source of their inspiration and role model or mentor.
