Amitabh Bachchan is everyone's favourite undoubtedly. And we all liked him in Piku. Along with comedy and humour, the movie entertained us with a serious but unignorable problem which is constipation.

Also, constipation is very common these days. So, here are some tips which have done wonders for me.

I found that I was intolerant to dairy products. If you are also intolerant to dairy products, then try avoiding them for the time being. This will give you relief during constipation . Instead take calcium supplements.

Don't forget to keep yourself hydrated. Drink more water when you are suffering from constipation.

You should also cut down on fast food and take foods with fibrous content instead.

You might know my next tip. This one is the most important. Avoid stress. Yes guys! Stress keeps you constipated. So, you can help yourself by not taking stress.

Now, you may find this one funny but trust me it works. Try to sit for 10-15 min. daily in the toilet and that too at the same time. I know it's not easy to go to the toilet and sit when you don't feel the urge to go and you might not find it useful at this time . But try this once . I have done this and it had helped.

Some people also get relieved by taking coffee when constipated. So, you can also try caffeinated coffee.

The best way to get relief during constipation is to exercise. It will certainly help you. So here are some of the exercises which have proven good for me.

1. Jogging or running

2. Squats or jumping squats

3. Wind Relieving pose- for this, first lay straight on your back with your legs extended in front of you. Then raise your right knee towards your chest and try to hold this position for 15-20 sec. Now, slowly extend your leg in front of you. Repeat the same with your left leg.

4. Pelvic floor exercise- for this first sit down on the floor with your knees opened at the level of your shoulders. Now you have to squeeze the muscles around your anus in such a way that you are stopping yourself from passing gas. Hold for 5 sec and release. Do relax for 10 sec. and start again. After a few times, repeat this exercise as tightly and quickly as you can.

At last, I would only like to mention that you should definitely consult your doctor when you feel constipated.
