I’m sure along with this changing weather you must be feeling the heat of the exam stress coming in your way as well. But exams need not be a nerve-wracking issue. With smart planning and preparation, you can smoothly sail through this seemingly unstable sea.

Do you know that it is scientifically proven that 25% of our physical and mental hard work is reduced if we have a proper plan to execute a task? Planning is a critical component in reducing stress during exams. We need to have our time table and have complete faith in our plan, regardless of what others say or do because at the end of the day it’s ultimately you who will benefit from it.

You must be amazed to know that there are scientific methods to deal with stress. Let me shed light on some of these;

1. The Law of Revision-

All of us must have experienced the anxiety before exams that "oh my god, I've forgotten everything I've, and I need to look at the topics again.” And therefore, we end up losing all our valuable time. According to this law, if we revise any concept within 24 hours and then within the next seven days, the idea goes straight into our long-term memory.

Do you know that different parts of our body are used when we study an academic subject say, History, and when we consider a logical subject like Mathematics?

This brings us to our second law that is-

2. The Law of Space-

To prevent early exhaustion, we should study relevant, practical, and theoretical subjects alternately. In this manner, different parts of our brain are used, and we don't get tired fast.

I'm sure that all of you must have faced nervousness on the exam day or during the preparation. Do you know that our anxiety and nervousness cause the release of adrenalin in our brain, thereby clouding the memory, which consequently makes us forget what we've learned?

3. The Law of Interference-

It proves that if we study anything new at the last moment, we aren't only bound to forget it, but we also risk losing the memory of all that we've learned for our exams.

Well, how often does it happen to you that as soon as you prepare your mind to keep away from every distraction and open your books to study, you fall asleep! If you’re a victim too, then I might have something for you.

Our scientists have developed a method to deal with this as well, and it's called ABC.

It’s as simple as it sounds.

A- ALERT

It implies that you should be aware that your subconscious mind has started to create negative thoughts. Being alert towards such negative thoughts is the first step towards eliminating them.

B-BREATH

Deep breathing supplies plenty of oxygen to your brain, reducing your stress.

C-CHANGE

This demands the need to refresh your brain from the study schedule for a better concentration. But remember, this change should only be there for a short time.

I hope this benefits you for the upcoming exams and you pass with flying colors.
