Introduction

I love books and I love to read. It gives me pleasure. I can lose myself in it. So is the case with movies.

Books widen our imagination, while the movies turn our imagination into reality by adding visual effects, CGI and a musical score. But the one question we ask ourselves frequently, should we prefer books or its movie adaptations?

Since the dawn of time, this question has loomed over us. When I think about the movie adaptation of the book series, I immediately think of Harry Potter.

The series, both in terms of books and movies, have been successful. But both of them differ in terms of their story portrayal. Of course, this is bound to happen.

But why books

The reason is that books are descriptive. So it’s quite difficult for the creators to make a movie that descriptive. Either they have to divide the book into two separate movies or include only the major plot point from the book. Most of us have more expectations from the movie adaptation than other movies. In the end, we are all left with nothing but disappointment. Because of this, many of us prefer reading books than watching its movie adaptation.

Movies adaptation that truly does justice to a book or book series is quite rare. Movies like the Help, Lord of the Rings, Angels and Demons and so on.

There are alawys expection

There are times when the creators of the movie alter the storyline of the book. Thus, giving us their own rendition of the movie. For instance, the famous horror movie Shining which is based on the novel written by Stephen King. in the movie director Stanley Kubrick has altered the storyline from the original line. This made King quite furious. Another example is that of the movie Love, Simon based on the book Simon vs the homo sapien agenda.

While on the other hand, there has been a movie adaptation which was narrated better than the books. Like for instance, 3 idiots the movie which I thoroughly enjoy. The movie was based on the novel Five Point Someone by Chetan Bhagat. The movie was entertaining and funny as compared to the novel, which was quite serious. Another notable example is the James Bond series. Now it is obvious that the movies are quite engaging as compared to the novel. It is action pack with lots of car racing, fighting sequence and explosion of the building.

Conclusion

At last, I would like to say that discussion about the above topic will continue on and on. It will create some kind of disagreement between the people. In my opinion, I would say that enjoy both of them. It might help you to get out of the boring and mundane life.
