When it's summertime you have to take extra care of your body. During this time, your body easily loses water, commonly referred to as dehydration. It can be defined as the subsequent loss of water along with electrolytes, vitamins, and minerals. It is a serious issue since it can lead to sunstroke.
The primary aim in summer should be to maintain a certain amount of water in your body. So, in order to stay healthy, you must include any one of the following items in your diet.
Cucumber- This vegetable is a storehouse for water and other nutrients. It is of dark green color. It can be eaten raw, without cooking. You can either peel it before eating or eat it as it is to increase the amount of roughage. It has nutrients like potassium, magnesium, vitamins A, C, K, and calcium. This can also be included in your salad.
Watermelon- This is another storehouse of water, it contains the same amount of water as it has its name. This fruit has great benefits for our skin since it has lycopene, which helps in rejuvenating our skin. It helps in removing toxins from the body, hence is great for both liver and kidneys. Instead of having cold drinks, which contains caffeine(responsible for draining water from the human body), have watermelon flavored water or eat it when it is cool.
Coconut water- This is surely a blessing in disguise for the whole human race because of its health benefits. Coconut water is loaded with various nutrients which can help with dehydration. It also helps in controlling blood pressure. It has great benefits for the skin.
Mango- This summer fruit has equal lovers as its benefits. With great taste, it has vitamins C, A, D. The list does not end here. It also has calcium, potassium, and iron. It can compensate for the loss of nutrients from the human body. It also controls blood pressure.
Buttermilk- With its availability in different flavors in the Indian market, it is known by all. It helps in boosting immunity and is also good for the stomach. It has probiotic bacteria which restores the lost gut bacteria and helps with dehydration.
Avoid eating oily food items, spicy food from stalls to stay fit and healthy this summer.
