Domestic violence is basically any sort of violence whether physical or emotional which takes place at home. The problem with this kind of violence is that it goes unnoticed and the person bearing the blows is made to keep quite why? The answer is often silence. Let’s talk about the mother we worship so proudly but goes through immense pain but never expresses it. It again comes down to the fact that we belong from a culture and society which does not honour women when they need to. It’s not a women's fault that she got married into an abusive family which she was not aware of earlier. 8 out of 10 women have experienced abuse from home. Harassing for a male child, harassing for dowry, harassing her for one's own loss, harassing for her mere existence. how can we take this issue so casually after knowing that they are victims of abuse and will continue to be till people's perspectives are not changed and even if we are able to change the perspective of a few it doesn't guaranteeus that it will completely stop. Cases are not even filed because it’s regarded as a family matter. It’s also surprising that the women’s own parents do not support her and tell her to “deal with it” he is after all your husband. In such times who is she supposed to take assistance and comfort from when her own are treating her like an outsider. She therefore continues to take the blows, hide her bruises and fake a smile so that no one in the society questions her more likely no one questions the demons who put her through this. There have been a number of acts issued to handle the violence but only of limited use or of no use at all. It affects women of each socio-economic strata differently. While one may not even know what’s happening to her is a crime and one even after knowing is unable to voice the crime.

“ She peeps into their room only to witness the painful sight and torture been given by her father to the mother he once loved “ children might not understand what they see but it lives with them in their memories. They keep questioning what they saw but never have the courage to ask their father why he did what he did or ask their mother how she hides her scars. So the next time you see something wrong happening in your home please take a stand if you are able to do that, you will be able to help others as well. Home is supposed to be a safe Heaven not a hell hole.
