There has been a lot of buzz about weight loss in the past and the legacy continues till date.
But if we ask ourselves….why we are doing this? Running behind a constant sense of approval from others or even ourselves.is it really that necessary?

So let's get this straight, one thing is for sure, being healthy is definitely a priority. But being skinny should not be. Being healthy is a complete state of physical and mental well being. Now, considering the fact that weight loss is often related to weight loss drugs, which have little to no scientific proof to do their work, Skimmed milk and dairy products that say they are gluten free..but are definitely not, as a result helping you gain a few more pounds or “even the supersonic ultra hyper out of the Galaxy weight loss belts”..it would be an understatement to call weight loss a healthy practice.

For yes people have thought that consuming fewer calories and exercising more leads to a better weight loss process. However if truth be told numerous studies have shown how important a minimum amount of not just calories but even proteins vitamins and fibres are necessary for one's body. Does restricting yourself from all of that only leads to a lower nutritional value of your daily intake.

Studies have also shown that there are various psychological side effects that occur with the process of weight loss. People who are going through these steps often tend to question the time of their progress. They move to a state of body dissatisfaction, which is linked to various other problems like binge eating disorder. All these factors instead of making weight loss a healthier choice makes it a dangerous risk. Risk that not only puts your body in danger but also your mental state of mind.

Although I agree that obesity should definitely be discouraged but them they have to be a systematic process to address and tackle weight loss.

Healthcare system should provide them sufficient details about their own body type and talk to them about how much improvement you can come with certain changes in their lifestyle. Socially, I think we should see this as an issue that can be dealt with positivity and sensibility, if we educate ourselves how to go about certain changes. Let's stop believing in the hyped up advertisements as they don't intend to help anyone apart from themselves in making more money.

Although it's of utmost importance to take yourself from a journey of fat to fit. It's also important to believe that skinny is not always fit. One could be big and curvy but still live a Healthy lifestyle while another could have severe eating disorders while being skinny. So let's not judge people on the basis of how they look let's embrace the curves as much as we embrace the abs and the tiny waist.

Irrespective of how you look, what you eat, what you do...at the end of the day it's what's on the inside that matters. So choose a healthier lifestyle of peace and dignity and of course self love.
