Griezmann: If I Have To Apologise, I’Il Do It On Pitch

Antoine Griezmann was officially unveiled as a FC Barcelona player this Sunday , behind the closed doors at Camp Nou stadium. He was first taken to club’smedical facilities to undergo medical tests, which he successfully passed. Later signed his 5-year contract at FC Barcelona alongside club’s president Josep Bartomeu. His contract contains a 800 million release clause, making him the player with highest release clause at FC Barcelona surpassing Lionel Messi.

After his contract signing his shirt numberwas reviled asBarca’s newest number 17. Before this it was speculated that he would take Phillipe Coutinho’s No. 7 but, when asked during his press conference later , why his chose No.17, Griezmann replied: “That shirt number (No. 7) has a owner. So, me and my family decided to go with No. 17”

After his contract signing, Griezmann was presented in front of media at one of Camp Nou stadium’s spectator’s stand area, where he did few keep-ups , posed for photos, did a few tricks with the ball and played with La Masia’s youth players.

Then, he was presented before Local Media alongside club’s president Bartomeu and sporting director Eric Abidal. He answer many questions, regarding his transfer.

When asked abouthis decision to snub a move toBarcelona last summer and his future at Camp Nou , he said: “I have done various bad things in the past. But I have never regretted anything because they are things I wanted to do at that time”

“I didn’t play with either of the two sides, In the end, [Barca and I] are now together and i can’t wait to wear the shirt. If I have to apologise, I will do so on the pitch. That’s where I do my best talking .”

Also Griezmann, when asked about Lionel Messi, has expressed his excitement at playing alongside the five time Ballon D’or winner. “I’m looking forward to seeing what [Lionel] Messi is like on a day-to-day basis in the training”, he continued by stating, ”Playing next to him will be an incredible joy.”

When asked about meeting his new team-mates he replied: “I’m very happy, I’m looking forward to working with the squad and meeting my new team-mates.”

When asked about his ambitions with Barcelona he said:“It’s a new challenge and new targets.These are important things and I hope I can do well as I can”

“All of them – La Liga, Copa del Rey, Champions League. They’re the clubs’s goals and my goals.”

He was then asked about his French mates at club, “With Sam [Umtiti] and Ousmane [Dembele], I have good relationship with both of them, I look forward to seeing them.”
