Avengers Infinity Waris a 2018 Americansuperhero filmbased on theMarvel Comicssuperhero team theAvengers, produced byMarvel Studiosand distributed byWalt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the sequel to 2012'sThe Avengersand 2015'sAvengers: Age of Ultron, andthe nineteenth filmin theMarvel Cinematic Universe(MCU). The film is directed byAnthony and Joe Russo, written byChristopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, and features anensemble castincludingRobert Downey Jr.,Chris Hemsworth,Mark Ruffalo,Chris Evans,Scarlett Johansson,Benedict Cumberbatch,Don Cheadle,Tom Holland,Chadwick Boseman,Paul Bettany,Elizabeth Olsen,Anthony Mackie,Sebastian Stan,Danai Gurira,Letitia Wright,Dave Bautista,Zoe Saldana,Josh Brolin, andChris Pratt. In the film, the Avengers and theGuardians of the Galaxyattempt to stopThanosfrom amassing the all-powerfulInfinity Stones.

You expected superheroes to die inAvengers: Infinity War. You probably didn’t expectso manysuperheroes would perish by the end of the film.Thanos fulfilled his plan to destroy half of all life in the universe, and with the snap of his fingers, people began to disintegrate.A lot can be said aboutAvengers: Infinity War, and even more can be said about the bonkers ending. To recap, Thanos (Josh Brolin) basically wins the war when he collects all six Infinity Stones. Then, with a snap of his fingers, he accomplishes what he sets out to do—wipe out half the universe at random. This ends up killing beloved characters like Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), all of the Guardians of the Galaxy except Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and Nebula (Karen Gillan), and more. There are still major superheroes on the board like Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and Captain America (Chris Evans), but half the universe is just gone, and Thanos is happily watching the sun rise, still in possession of the Infinity Gauntlet and all the Stones (although it looks like the gauntlet was damaged after he snapped his fingers).Actually at the ending Thanos and Gamora are found inside the soul stone.

They are in the Soul Realm.

Avengers Endgame :TheEndgametrailer starts with Tony Stark saying goodbye to Pepper Potts as his ship slowly runs out of resources and fuel. “Just for the record, being adrift in space with zero promise of rescue is more fun than it sounds,” Stark says, setting up an inevitable storyline. We already know that the rescue armor is coming, thanks to a leaked picture of Gwyneth Paltrow in the suit. In the comics, Potts used the Iron Man-lite suit to take down Madame Masque, who made an appearance inAgent Cartershow.Given the events ofInfinity War, it’s almost guaranteed thatAvengers: Endgamewill feature some interaction between Thanos and child Gamora, which makes it just as reasonable to expect Marvel’s comic book arm to play up similar interaction in the source material. File this under, “Yeah, we probably already knew that.”

Why do the Avengers need special new suits? Because there are time vortexes in the Quantum Realm, although it’s still unclear how they work. We also know that the realm is a massive universe populated by sentient beings capable of speech, as well as cities where some of these beings reside. That much we know from deletedAnt-Man and the Waspscenes as well as the commentary that followed the release of the movie.

Where is Hawkeye?
In a scene where most of the oldAvengerscrew reunites at HQ, we get an explanation. While it appears that someCaptain America: Civil Warcharacters like Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Falcon/Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) have been on the run and living underground for the past two years, deals were offered to the group to be on house arrest. Both Barton and Lang took the deals because they had families to consider.

The question now becomes whether or not Barton and Lang sit outAvengers 4. We’ve seen set photos of Renner in a new costume and new hairstyle forAvengers 4, so either it’s an alternate reality or we all just grieve in our own way. For Clint Barton, grief involves a makeover. In any event, next year I doubt we’ll be asking, “Where’s Hawkeye?” especially since writersChristopher MarkusandStephen McFeelytoldBuzzfeed: “We like Hawkeye,” said Markus. “We like Hawkeye so much we gave him a really good story.”
