One of the many things that I don't understand about people is that why hearing the word "diet" makes them cringe or scoff and why do they go crazy when you tell them that you're on a diet. Factually, dieting is nothing but following a regime in which you eat foods that you choose according to your body requirements. You maintain a multinutrient diet so that you can attain your daily macro goals.

People consider dieting or eating healthy as a tedious job because it takes a little more efforts that includes not eating junk or unhealthy foods in large quantities. But why does dieting have to be boring at all? There are many ways you can include the "healthy" component while you eat without compromising the "fun" part. Here are some easily available food choices which you can add to your diet, that are not only healthy but are utterly delicious.

1. OATS UPMA:
Upma has been one of the favourite breakfast choices amongst us for a very long time. Oats upma is a highly recommended breakfast option as oats are packed with fibre and protein, that gives you a kick start for the day. It's easy to cook and you can add veggies of your choice. No better way to start your day, but you can also consider it as a dinner option because it's light and doesn't contain as many calories.

2. PEANUT BUTTER & BANANA TOAST:
This one is my personal favourite because whenever I crave for something sweet, but don't want to end up consuming too many calories I go for 2 peanut butter & banana toasts. Both peanut butter and banana are known to have great nutritional value when they're consumed in moderate amounts. It's so delicious and perfect for an evening snack. For people who don't have a taste for peanut butter, I suggest you go for almond butter or honey roasted peanut butter. Most of the nut butters are high in protein, fibre and vitamins.

3. YOGHURT WITH FRUITS:
Yoghurt is one of the very well known superfoods that is rich in protein and calcium. 100 grams of yoghurt contains about 59 units of calories and 10grams of protein! No wonder all the gym hunks are crazy about it. Yoghurt and fruit is an amazing combination and can serve as breakfast, evening snack or even a midnight snack. Yoghurt goes amazingly well with almost all kinds of fruits. Vanilla Greek yoghurt with berries, bananas & apple is a very typical combination and tastes heavenly.

4. EGG & CHEESE GRILLED SANDWICH:
Don't we all love grilled sandwiches, especially when they're layered with a slice of cheese? Egg & cheese grilled sandwich is also one of my favourites because A. it's delicious (um hello, it has cheese!) B. It's very very healthy C. It's super easy to make. Eggs are one of the best sources of protein, and cheese, well mainly people are aware of its fattening properties but it also acts as a host to many nutrients like calcium, protein, vitamin A and vitamin B12, so one slice of cheese isn't going to harm you.

5. OATMEAL BREAKFAST:
I've noticed that oatmeal is something that people usually frown upon like it's some kind of food that you eat when you're sick. But oats are exactly like rice, they can be consumed in many different ways and can taste however you want them to. One great way is to cook the oats with milk and mix honey into it. Trust me it tastes so good, it's like a low-calorie sweet dish ( a lot like kheer or daliya) and if you don't want to make it too sweet you can always adjust the taste. You can garnish it with fruits of your choice like bananas or strawberries. Chopped almonds also go well with it.

6. SWEET CORN CHAAT:
Sweet corn is something that is enjoyed by the people of all the ages as a regular snack. Sweet corns are not only loved for its amazing taste but they are also loaded with vitamins and good quality fibre. Corns have so many health benefits like 1. It prevents many diseases related to vitamin deficiency. 2. Lowers blood sugar level & cholesterol 3. Keeps the skin healthy. Who knew, that the thing we've enjoyed munching on for so long had so many health benefits? Sweet Corn chaat is pretty simple to prepare and takes no time at all. All you need is sweet corn kernels, pepper, onion, tomato (all your choice), some lemon and chaat masala for nice a tangy flavour and give it a light stir fry for a few minutes.

7. BROCCOLI PARATHA:
All the broccoli lovers out there, you didn't think I'd forget about you did you? Now out of all the dishes that I just listed above, this is the most time consuming of all, but it can make a really great option for dinner, or mainly breakfast. The recipe to it is pretty similar to that of Gobi Paratha. As much as I love cauliflower, I'd choose broccoli any day, because of its numerous health benefits. It's beneficial for heart health, skin care, diet aid (of course), a powerful antioxidant and many more.

One thing which is very important to remember is that eating healthy does not give you an excuse for binge eating. Because healthy calories still count as calories.

Now, if you're still reading this article, I don't think it's fair for you to not try any of these dishes/snacks. Because trust me, you're not going to regret it and once you get in the habit of eating healthy, you won't have to restrict yourself because of some "diet", you will actually find yourself enjoying this way of living.
