Along with a healthy diet and a regular routine, it is important to keep your genital hygiene in check too. So here are seven rules which can help you have a healthy intimate routine.

The moment you hit puberty, everything seems to change. Your body transforms without a warning, leaving you gawky and gaping at the degree of change. First periods, then the bras, the vaginal secretions… the list is endless. Well, that’s the beauty of being a woman! There’s never a dull day, as your body always surprises you with something more before you are used to the previous change. So how do you make all those changes a tad bit easier for yourself? Along with a healthy diet and a regular routine, it is important to keep your genital hygiene in check too.

To begin with, your vagina is an extremely sensitive part of your body and needs a certain amount of care. So here are those

✨ Seven guidelines to intimate vaginal health: ✨

🔷 Only water and soap, we hope !!

The best way to clean the vagina is using water and mild soap.

♦️ Oh dear, odour ?

It’s normal for the vagina to have a scent. However, if you think the smell of your vagina is a concern, use a mild vaginal wash. Vaginal odour can change at different times of the reproductive cycle and shouldn’t always be thought of as being a sign of infection or illness. However, avoid perfumed soaps, gels and antiseptics as these can affect the healthy balance of bacteria and pH levels in the vagina and cause irritation.

🔷 Post peedom

After urinating, wash and dab it off gently from the front to back, not vice versa.

♦️ In Pubic Interest

Many women feel that they are dirty and unclean, if they haven’t removed their pubic hair. However, you do have options for removing unwanted hair – like bikini waxes, shaving, cream hair removers, etc. Just keep in mind that you don’t develop a rash or an allergy due to either of these methods.

🔷 Soft pads for periods.

To be comfortable during your periods, change your tampon or sanitary pad every 3 hours. Invest in soft pads to avoid chaffing of the thighs.

♦️ Breast-care

Keep your breasts dry and clean. Invest in some good bras which will help your shape and avoid any damage to your breast tissue. Wipe off the sweat with a wet cloth from beneath your breasts, especially if you have been working out or doing physical work.

Avoid satins, laces and synthetic underwears and bras during summers. Stick to cotton wear, as your inners need to get some breathing space too and so does your body.

🔷 Eat well

You may not realize it, but a balanced, nutritious diet and drinking plenty of fluids are key to vaginal and reproductive health. In fact, certain foods may be effective in treating vaginal health problems. Cranberry juice and yogurt can potentially help prevent yeast infections and aid in their treatment.

Good information is the key to a healthy body and that can be achieved when you look at yourself a little more thoroughly. Use a mirror and take a look at your genitals every 2-3 months to ensure good hygiene. In case of any infections, please do not hesitate to contact your gynaecologist.

Good health is everything !! ❤️
