Child labour takes place when children are forced to work at an age when they are expected to study and enjoy their phase of Innocence. It employees lost childhood that leads to exploitation of children in various forms such as mental or social and physical and many more.

Not all children in India are lucky to enjoy their childhood ,many of them are forced to work under inhuman conditions. There are several laws banning child labour , still children continue to be exported as cheap labour.

The actual number of child labourers in India goes undetected. Children are forced to do work in completely unregulated condition without, proper wages , adequate food and rest. They are subjected to various abuses too.

Factors such as lack of social security, poverty, the increasing gap between the rich and the poor have adversely affected children. Loss of jobs of parents, armed conflicts, farmers suicide and high cost of healthcare are other factors contributing to child labour.

Government authorities need to work to free children engaged in labour under abysmal conditions.

There is a need to mobilize public opinion with an aim to bring about an effective policy initiative to abolish child labour completely.
