According to the research in 2016, the cities of the world generated 2.01 billion tonnes of solid waste, amounting to the foot of 0.74 kgs per person per day. With rapid population growth and urbanization, annual waste generation is expected to increase by 70% from 2016levels to 3.40 billion tonnes in 2050.So much waste. So how can we cope up with this situation? We can, by LIVING PLASTIC FREE.

#What is Zero Waste Management?
Zero Waste Management is an idea or goal by producing minimum waste which is approximate to zero. The goal for no trash to be sent to landfills, incineration or the ocean. In Zero waste management, waste management is managed by Recycling, Reducing, Reusing.

The first step towards Zero waste management is living plastic free
>Plastic takes a minimum of 450 years to breakdown or maximum of forever. So to start with firstly we generate more plastic in our home.

1)In Kitchen (non plastic alternative are) :-

Kitchen is the area of our home where we generate more waste and mainly plastic. Swap this plastic with the alternatives like:-

*Replace PLASTIC WRAP with beeswax wrap.
*Use stainless steel straws instead of PLASTIC STRAWS. You can also use compostable paper straws.
*Replace PAPER TOWELS which are wrapped in plastic with reusable rags and cloth.
*Replace PLASTIC STORAGE CONTAINER with glass ones or stainless steel ones.
*Replace ice cube molds with stainless steel or silicone ones.
*Eliminate usage of Plastic cups, trays , spoons, forks or napkins that comes in PLASTIC.

2)PERSONAL CARE:-

*Toothbrush, paste comes with plastic so replace it with other alternatives like a bamboo brush.

*stop buying makeup remover wipes instead use reusable cloth pads.
*Eliminate shampoo soap containing plastic wrapper with package free alternatives.
*Swap your plastic loofa with a natural bath sponge.

Hence concluding this we all can do little things towards our environment and make it friendly for our future generations. Lastly, I want to say is that YOU CAN BE MORE WITH LESS. Little steps taken now can be beneficial and the future generation will be thankful.

We don’t think twice while wasting and throwing the valuable food along with food waste. But while taking efforts to bring it back in circular economy of sustainability we want to be God of Gods.
