"Have you watched Gully Boy?"

"Yes, dude. First day. What a movie bro..."

Gully boy is the talk of the town since the trailer had released. So, yesterday, I woke up early morning and made my way to the theatre. I was overwhelmed at how full the theatre was with people from different classes, strata of society seated in one room.

The movie starts off with a bang which showcases Moen (Vijay Varma) and Murad (Ranveer Singh) keying a car and taking it for a spin. It is then when we are introduced to the backgrounds of these characters. The scene is packed with powerful dialogues and acting by all the actors. As the movie progresses, we are introduced to Safeena (Alia Bhatt), Murad's girlfriend who is a firecracker, MC Sher (Siddhant Chaturvedi), who mentors Murad and gave him his rapper name 'Gully boy'. The film also focuses on the complicated relationship his parents have.

The cinematography and editing were top notch. And so were the dialogues. The movie portrayed the lives of many slum dwellers beautifully. The characters were very well written and I absolutely loved the subtle messages given (eg: brown and beautiful)

While the movie was great, I think they stretched out the movie for too long. I remember waiting for the intermission in the first half because it got boring. The other thing which ticked me off was the fact that the movie ended on the climax. When the title came at the end, I exclaimedin disbelief, "It's over?" I was so disappointed that I wanted a refund.

Would I recommend the movie? Yes, it's a one time watch. As I said, the movie is great. The film has already minted Rs. 89 crores in the first week. Please go watch the movie. And then you can comment down your opinions and thoughts.

See you later!
