It was our third week in Italy and I guess by that time my friends had well realized the benefits of being friends with an archaeologist. I totally saved their money on tour guides.

Rileena patted her tummy as she swallowed the last slice of her pizza . “OMG...I am going get fat again”, she exclaimed as we sat in a restaurant in Venice.

I must mention here that Rilu had burned a considerable amount of weight before the vacation because she wanted to wear a bikini.

“You sure will...but for a different reason”, said Dishani leering at her.

“Oh shit up. I am on pills”

And here I must mention that I was our third week in Italy and Rileena had already hooked up with 3 men. Hats off to this girl.

Those three week had been awesome. We had visited a lot of archeology and science museums, rode gondolas, shopped like crazy, wore bikinis on the beach(Rileena's achievement), compared the dick size of David(by Michelangelo) to all the men to our exes. And of course we ate a lot of pizzas and had crazy hook ups. Venice was our last stop. Tomorrow we would set for Poveglia islands from here.

We were all excited maybe except Dishani. She was still sad that there won't be internet service. So she was spending some last hours with her beloved laptop.

“I am working for the police on a top secret, super important mission. It's important man!”, protested Dishani as we rolled our eyes for the hundredth time at her.

“We are on a vacation and isn't working on a vacation the last thing you should be doing?”, urged Sam.

Dishani shrugged. “No holidays for hackers”.

-“But you should be spending time with us”

-“I am”

-“You know what I mean Dishani”, said Sam quite seriously.

-“Oh come on. We will be in Poveglia island tomorrow. I can't work there. We will spend all the time together”, railed Dishani

This is the thing about Dishani. She NEVER realizes her mistakes even if we point it to her. We were busy explaining Dishani the essence of the company of friends when a deep authoritative voice started us. “Excuse me”.

Startled by the voice we look up and were even more startled to see the man standing in front of us. To say the least he was handsome. We could have mistaken him for one of the sculptures from the museum save he wore clothes. He had grey hairs clinging down his forehead and wore a navy blue blazer over a white shirt with no tie. The first two buttons of his shirt were left open giving us a hint of the magnificent body that lay within. He was standing there looking at us with a sexy smile on his face. His eyes passed from one to the other of us.

I don't know how much time we spent staring at him with our mouths open before one of us finally managed to say “Yes?”.

“Please don't mind my interference. I heard you young ladies talk about Poveglia island and I just couldn't contain my curiosity”, said he as he perched on the empty chair beside Sam directly opposite to me without any approval.

I glanced at Sam who was more than glad that the chair had been empty. I make a mental note to tease her later about this. But for now let's hear out what this splendid specimen of mankind has to say.

“So are you people going to the Poveglia Island?”, he asked. Again his eyes whirling from one to the other of us searching for answer.

“And who might you be?”, I asked ignoring his question.

His eyes stopped at mine. “Oh I am sorry I didn't introduce myself. I am Chaze Banner”, he said taking out a card from his pocket and placing it in the middle of the table. He gestured me to pick it up.

I took a look at the card while my friends finished introducing themselves. When Rilu elbowed me I looked up and realised it was my turn. “Oh...hi I am Jayeeta Paul. I am an archaeologist working at ____”.( Well there is no harm to tell. I won't be working there anymore). I extended my hand and he shook it. Gosh he had a good grip.

“ So I was asking are --”

“SoMr. Banner…” I cut him short. “You are a social servant I see. What kind of social service do you do?” I don't like sharing personal information with strangers. It's no way he is getting it out. Wherever we go what is your problem man?

The man was clearly not pleased by this but he maintained that sexy smile. “Well...I do charity and stuff.”

This sure wasn't a proper answer and I kind of grew suspicious. But before I could say something he continued “It looks like you ladies are tourists. Where is your next stop?”

Cute. Now he was trying a different approach. So you won't give up Mr. Banner?
Ok let's just play.

“We are almost at the end of our vacation. This is the last stop”, I replied glaring at him.

“Oh”

Annoyance was getting more and more prominent on him face but he didn't give it up. “I heard that there are ghosts in Poveglia island”, he said after a pause. As if that would scare us. This was probably our hundredth warning.

I was going to say something when Dishani opened her mouth. “Yea we are going to Proveglia. Problem?”. Screw Dishani. She spilled it!

At this even the man’s mouth fell open before an awkward laughter broke out.

“No. Obviously not. So how did you get permission?”

“We got sources”, I said, gulping down the last of my wine. I placed the glass of the table with a considerable thud, partly because I was mad at Dishani and partly because this man's curiosity was getting on my nerves.

The man first looked atme and then down at my empty glass. “Would you ladies like a refill?”

Seriously? Haven't you learned to give up?

“We are done here”, I said calmly, my voice on the edge.

This time the man took the hint. He rose up. “Umm...well thanks for your time ladies. Have a good evening.” He turned to his heels but before leaving he stopped. Looking over his shoulder he uttered, “Don't say I didn't warn you” and then he was gone. Though he said it in a calm manner, something in his voice sounded alarming.
