NEVER THINK THAT WAR, NO MATTER HOW NECESSARY, NOR HOW JUSTIFIED,IS NOT A CRIME -ERNEST HEMINGWAY
In this fast growing world, there is enough for our needs but not for ones greed ,which isthe reason of the increasing pace of theworld becoming a war zoneand a place full of uncertainities. Every war which is fought is for a justifiable reason but only a few of them are justified. The reasons are often expressed as the as the stereotypic thinking which is the need to save their religion or their rights and so on but the probable mindset of people hiding their intentions just in the name of religion or saving humanity is some or the other way out for their personal motives . A new question adds onhere that whether every war is for a personal motive? The answer to this lies in the moral or the end the war leaves which includes many casualties, damage to property and exhaustion of resources. The reason behind fighting a war is to right the wrongs done and also to give people a lesson to be followed upon in future. Whenever a humanitarian aspect such as maintaining peace and friendship, protecting motherland is involved, the act done is explanatory. Other causes of a war includes the economic gains, territorial gain, religion, revenge, nationalism and revolutionary war.
The recent episode of this question was the pulwama attack, was that justified? The surgical strike 2.0 ,was that a justified act? It can be said that the reply to the pulwama attack was justified as it was an act of self defense against an aggressor. The act could also be given a moral justification when it is the only way to protect citizens against dictatorship ,as in this case diplomacy is not much likely to be a good solution to the problem. As is leaned from the epic, the Mahabharata, Stand by what's right; even fight for it. The fact that every major advancement in the society is the result of a war cannot be denied. It is evident from the past incidents that to reach to situation of peace when when the language fails to make the opposition understand the only option that remains is to have a war. As said by Jesse Ventura,” a war can only be said justified if you’re willing to send your son and if you are not willing to send your son, how do you send someone else’s?”
The difference in the opinion of justice and injustice amongst people is also a reason for war to occur. Considering to the consequences that war brings with it i.e. considering the benefit it would bring to the future generations and the current society, the war could be said as justifiable or non justifiable.
