"Christmas is not so much about opening Presents as opening our Hearts". Gift of time and love are surely the basic ingredients of a truly Merry Christmas. It is celebrated to rejoice the birth of Christ who came to this world just to forgive our sins. On December 25th the day God entered into his created world in the shape of a baby. That is indeed a cause for celebration. But it’s not the whole cause. Because Christmas is not a whole story it’s just an opening chapter. Our celebration can only be complete if they embrace what the baby went on to do in his life, why he did it and what it meant for us.

"Christmas isn't a season. It’s a feeling" is what is stated by Edna Ferber. It's a feeling that asks us to help and share with others. It is a feeling of being so humble and simple in our lifestyle like the humble birth of Jesus Christ. For without Christmas, there can be no Easter, and without Easter there is no point in Christmas. It's also a season of joy, love, and happiness. We should try to keep it in our heart throughout all the year. How can joy of Christmas begin without the 'Christmas Carol’? The Christmas carol is the heart warming music sung in all the houses to announce the birth of the Christ.

The tradition of keeping Christmas trees for every Christmas is followed by Christians since the ancient period. It’s a tradition to bring the family together to decorate it and create memories. It’s a joy to do all the stuff together with your family. Really it’s a season of happiness. Christmas trees are decorated with light bulbs to represents to bring light into your life; bells represents the tune of the carol music; candy canes which are made of sugar represents the sweetness of the season, also the white colour represent the purity of the Christ and the red stripes are for the blood he shed for us when he died. Christmas candles which represent that 'Jesus is the light of the world'.

Christmas won't be complete without snow, Santa clause, cakes and presents. The story behind the Santa clause is St. Nicholas who was a bishop lived in the fourth century in Turkey. He was a very rich man because his parents died when he was young and left him a lot of money. He was a very kind man and had a reputation for helping poor people. It’s been his habit to give presents to all the poor people during Christmas. After his death, it has been a habit to give presents to others in the name called Santa clause dressed up in the appearance like St.Nicholas to honour him.

But neither these decorations nor these gifts are Christmas. The real meaning of Christmas is helping people, sharing your joy with others. According to Charles M.Schulz "Christmas is doing a little something extra for someone". Christmas is about giving something to others. It's to kindle the fire of hospitality in the hall and the flame of charity in the heart. So let the season of joy brings the hope to humanity and love too all.
