The Beloved Son

It was the first day of college. Raghu was quite nervous and excited as well. Raghu, a simple boy from a small city. Studied hard for getting into the college. He was an introvert guy with a vow to change himself.

It has been six weeks in the college but Raghu was still thinking about the words her mother told before leaving - “Raghu chose your company wisely!”

Ashish - Hey Raghu, how was your math’s exam.

Raghu - It was good except the last question which I did wrong.

Ashish, Raghu’s roommate was state topper in twelve. He was a motivation to Raghu.

Apart from him - Akhil, Pranav and Samir were Raghu’s friend.

Samir - Raghu we have been friend from four months and now the semester exams are over too, what you say now. I know one boy, we can meet him soon.

Raghu - I already told you I don’t want to be involved in all these. And please don’t bother me again.

Holidays were over and Raghu was back in the college. He did quite well in the previous exam, so this time he was quite relaxed. He started spending most of the time with Pranav and his friends. As a result of which Raghu failed in mathematics which once was his favorite subject. On the other hand his friend Ashish scored more than ninety percent in all the subjects. Raghu decided not to tell his parents about the marks but Ashish insisted him not to hide anything from his parents. Their conversation became tensed and soon Pranav and Samir joined them. Samir had something different in his mind. He supported Raghu and took him away from other.

Raghu - Pranav, where are you taking me?

Pranav - Hold on! You will know soon.

Soon they were in a place filled with many students who seemed familiar to Raghu. They all were taking some kind of drugs. Raghu was about to leave the place but he saw Akhil and Pranav waving at him. He at once could not believe his eyes but later confirmed that it was Akhil and Pranav.

Akhil - Hey Raghu, finally you are here man, have this, it will relieve you.

After many forceful insists, Raghu was finally into it.

From that day onwards, it became a part of routine for Raghu and he keep on falling into the world of dark from where there was no coming back.

Ashish was knowing that something was not right with Raghu. He noticed the fall in grades of Raghu and his change in behavior. He tried to talk with Akhil and Pranav but they ignored him. So he finally decided to talk to his parents. As soon as Ashish cut the call Raghu was standing in front of him, with a bottle of bear, drunk and filled with anger. He was in no position to listen anything. With no delay, he stabbed Ashish with bottle and himself felled unconsciously.

Next morning, Raghu got up in a sudden. For a few seconds he couldn’t understand what was going on, he then saw Ashish lying on the ground with blood spread all over the ground and also on his own body. He turned Ashish body only to realize that he has killed him. Now he was a murderer. In all this Raghu almost noticed that his phone was ringing. It was his mom. With the trembling hand he picked the call. Before his mother could say anything he said, “I killed Ashish and I don’t deserve to live now. Sorry mom I couldn’t become your beloved son.”

He hanged the call and jumped off the window.
