Are you aware of the famous poem “The Road Not Taken” by a famous American poet Robert Frost? If yes, great but if no then let me give you a very short gist of the same. The poem metaphorically describes a person’s dilemma of which road to take as in what career to choose and whether he will be successful in that chosen field. We all can agree that we relate or can relate to the poem at some point of our life. We all are an individual and we have several roads in front of us and amongst all of them we have to select a particular road after giving it every logical, emotional and rational thinking. Science, Commerce or Arts- what will a student choose that carry his interest as well as his successful future and what if his chosen road does not serves him up to his expectations? What will a person do then?

I have seen people regretting after choosing a particular field and I, myself, was one of them. I opted for Science in class Eleventh but gradually understood that it was not my cup of tea. This was the reason I switched to Arts for my graduation. I consider myself lucky enough to have realised soon as there are people who choose the mainstream careers so as to not face any failure or just to ensure enough success that would enable them to survive and this comes with a cost, the cost of forgetting one’s own passion because their passion might not guarantee them success thus they end up choosing the safe option. I feel very happy for those who choose a career based on their own passion and end up living a successful as well as a happy life. These people might not get enormous success but at least they live a life of content.

Do not confuse this as any lecture, it is just a thought that occurred to me that what am I doing with my life, is it right and if it is, am I going to continue it doing the right way and if it is wrong, what are the amendments needed in order to better my life. This is not a mere thought of an individual, it is a thought that every person has who wants to live a life of prosperity with no regrets. There are so many people shuttling between career and passion, some choose the safe option in order to support themselves financially, others choose their passion and for all those who have success in their respective field of passion, I really admire you and very happy for you because you should always enjoy and be passionate about your work in which you have excelled also.

I am a person of belief that a fresh beginning has no age. So, if any person is not happy with his choice of field then start afresh in that field where your heart belongs and do it with all the hard work so that success has no other choice but to follow you. All you have to do is give a lot of time and thought over the road that you have chosen and analyse it deeply so as to reach a conclusion.
