Firstly, I am sorry for any inconvenient events that have occured in your family, for those who might be reading this for I don't know whether you have been affected by the pandemic or not.

Okay!! Let me start!!!

Its been a long time since I put out my thoughts about something. I thought, "why don't I start with the topic everyone is talking about but only a few are understanding the topic? 🤔“. Talking and understanding are two completely different things.

By the sentences I put out at the beginning of this article, some of you might have guessed by now what I am going to talk about.

I AM GOING TO TALK ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH. NOT IN GENERAL BUT ONLY DURING THE PANDEMIC SITUATION. If you have guessed it right, Bingo!!!

Most of us have worries and tension about day to day life which is normal. But when the pandemic came up and started spreading across the country, we started panicking.

To the extent that even if we were perfectly healthy, in our homes, safe and sound, wearing masks wherever we go, We started booking hospital beds like hotel beds, bought dozens of medicines which we don't even know how to take the doses of, stocking things like for an entire decade ( yes, I am exaggerating 😏).

The main thing everyone has to understand even now is that we can worry, not panic. A huge difference.

Worry about your health, fine. Don't panic about your health.

Worry about your needs, fine. Don't panic for your needs.

Worry about work, fine. Don't panic about work.

If we can put these two words in a sentence together without replacing each other, then it definitely means that they are completely different.

Worries can be controlled; Panic is sudden, unpredictable and you don't know how huge its effect can be on our health. When you worry, your brain takes the tension and eases in itself but when you panic, not only your brain but your heart too takes the tension which can adversely effect the functioning of your body.

Now that I have spoken intellectually ( you might think otherwise too, not a problem😊), let me tell you what I really want to tell in my own words.

COVID-19 is a situation which was unpredictable, could have been stopped but not much time was given to put our brains into it and just created chaos in the entire world.

Now that we are in this situation, we have to think at our personal levels too.

God forbid, but if you have been tested postitve, first consult a doctor, DON'T PANIC. Panicking will only make your situation worse. Covid patients have to eat well, take medicines and take REST, panicking is not in your prescription.

Next, yes, you HAVE to be isolated. You should be thankful if you can isolate, if you have the space to isolate.

If you want me to be sarcastic, then ok. Let me be sarcastic to make this "isolation point" clear. In the past two decades, people who have played with stones and pebbles for entertainment, sat outside their houses with a group of friends have resorted to technology where they are talking to people who are just next door through video calls way before the pandemic.

Now, suddenly you need to isolate, stay indoors during lockdowns, "I have to meet people, I have to go out for gatherings", this thought won't work now.

You should have attended gatherings when it was safe, but before 2020. Don't make things difficult for others just because you can't stay in a room for a few days.

Isolate when you can so that you don't have to isolate when others are roaming freely outside.

About being left alone, people are coming out and helping strangers. Besides social networking sites are always there to help you stay connected, so don't worry.

Finally, WORK. You all have been working and are still working from your houses. Work from Home has become a common name for offices now. You don't have to worry about your leaves and work.

In case you are unhealthy and want to take a break from work, take it. Nothing is more important than your health. Work can be done only if you are alive and healthy. Work can wait, your health can't.

Okay!! I hope this was a useful article and not a boring lecture. Hope I have changed your topic of discussion into a topic that can be understood.
