Love Yourself

Love Yourself : Soul

Pt. [How to Read]

Reading replenish your soul's curiosity.

Reading is a blissful experience which takes you away from a present moment to hundreds of impossible possibilities!

Reading for some may be a hobby, for some a need or for some even their profession.

Whether you read as a hobby, for work or perhaps you are decked with books you need to finish for summer holidays or there have been these certain books you always have been wanting to read even though you perhaps have never read a whole book by will in your lifetime, but hey it's never too late to start!

Here are some suggestions which may help you cosy up to books and make reading fun and calming. (to me it's my own meditation)

1. Reading Corner :

This one is quite vital to some and for some it may be as important as a cabbage to a lion. In any case if you are finding it hard to concentrate when you sit down to read or are unable to find the right mood this one is for you.

It's quite fun and simple.Setting up reading corner can be really fun and fulfilling to your aesthetic and creative need. So what we need to do is set up a corner in your home where you read. It can be as you like! You prefer a window seat?be it! Some suggestions are:

-comfortable chair/sofa/couch.
-a table of your choice. (a foldable table may come in handy for those who chooses a family place like a couch

- decorate it a bit perhaps?have a cosy classic looking reading chair or maybe modern is your liking.

-Place pretty bookmarks and a stack of books in a shelf nearby. For this you can either place your 'reading corner' beside a bookshelf or place a small self like below to stack books. Have pencils to take notes or underline words you might wanna search up later. (I myself find it quite annoying to have to look up words while I am into the story. But there are times I want to know the meaning of the word then and there as it is vital to understand the sentence. So have a dictionary/phone in handy too)

-have your favourite cup of beverage (mine would definitely be coffee or even tea!)

-if it's winters you can have a favourite blanket to wrap around while you delve into books of your preference.

2. Don't stop halfway :
When we pick up a book to read, we don't know what it beholds. We don't know if it will be as interesting as the bookseller said or as perfect to your liking as your friend pointed it will be.

And that is the fun. If we already knew the ending of a story, a movie why would we even watch? Some may say unlike movies, books are a commitment. Longest movies may be of few hours but books, they are with you for days or even months.

In that case u have to understand that, if you leave on halfway you will never get to knowhow it ended or what the next part brought.

Don't leave halfway cause it seemed not much interesting.

If you are like me, and you buy a new boom whilst reading one. You will be too excited to read the other. If that happens you can read the two consequently. It will take more time to complete each but remember you don't need to compete with your reading speed. You are reading for your own exclusive pleasure not to tell how many books you read in a month

3. Keep a reading journal :
Keep a diary for books you have read and want to read.
You can even have a diary with quotes you loved from books and would want to take a look at again. They maybe be consoling to you, inspiring or maybe plain witty!

You may even keep a diary for words, new words you learned. Or words you keep forgetting. It will help densely if you write too!like there are a couple of words I keep forgetting even thought I know the meaning. I don't know how they keep escaping and I am sitting there trying to make people understand with hand gestures. For me the word would be 'stereotyping' haha.

Goodbye and KEEP READING!
