Are you a book addict? A bibliophile? Do you love to read books and novels? If yes, then you're in the right place.

There are millions and billions of books out there and you can't decide which one would be worthy enough to read. So many books, and so little time!

Here are some of my personal recommendations (favourites) that you should probably read.

1. When breath becomes air by Paul Kalanithi.

The late neurosurgeon Paul Kalanithi shares his journey as a lung cancer patient. He tells us of his tryst with mortality and his attempt to answer: “What, given that all organisms die, makes a virtuous and meaningful life?” This book is written as he faced a terminal cancer diagnosisa and is inherently sad. But it’s an emotional ride worth making: a moving and thoughtful memoir of family, medicine and literature. It is, despite its grim undertone, accidentally inspiring and heart-touching. Philosophical, beautiful, moving, difficult, heartbreaking. Highly, HIGHLY recommended.

Now, If you are a science enthusiast and love to know and read about real- life inspiring journeys, then this is the book that will definitely turn out to be a favorite.

2. To kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

It's coming-of-age story which contains social commentary on racism. A story on women empowerment that also has parenting lessons.

It's written from a little girl's point of view but has amazing thoughts for everyone. Even after being written so many years ago, it still has some very relevant lessons for everyone, there is something for everyone in it! Definitely one of the #mustread books.

"You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view... Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it."
"There are just some kind of men who-who're so busy worrying about the next world they've never learned to live in this one, and you can look down the street and see the results.”

3. 7 Habits of Highly effective people by Stephen R. Covey

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey is a self-improvement book.

The seven habits covered in this are-

  1. Be Proactive

  2. Begin with the End in Mind

  3. Put First Things First

  4. Think Win-Win

  5. Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood

  6. Synergize

  7. Sharpen the Saw

Covey believes the way we see the world is entirely based on our perception. Whatever we think, happens. It is our responsibility to take the blame of everything that happens to us instead of blaming the world.

4. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

The Great Gatsby is your neighbor you're best friends with until you find out he's a drug dealer. It charms you with some of the most elegant English prose ever published, making it difficult to discuss the novel without the urge to stammer awestruck about its beauty. It would be evidence enough to argue that F. Scott Fitzgerald was superhuman, if it wasn't for the fact that we know he also wrote This Side of Paradise.

The Great Gatsby is about deception; Fitzgerald tints our glasses rosy with gorgeous prose and a narrator you want so much to trust, but leaves the lenses just translucent enough for us to see that Gatsby is getting the same treatment. And if Gatsby represents the truth of the American Dream, it means trouble for us all. Consider it the most pleasant insult you'll ever receive

5. Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Alborn

Everyone at some point in life, feels confused, lost, and this is the time where we look for someone who could impart wisdom to us, give us advice and help us make it out of our problems.

For Mitch Albom, that person was Morrie Schwartz, his college professor from nearly 20 years ago. Mitch had a second chance to rediscover his professor, Morrie and relive those moments of wisdom and take life lessons from him.

Professor Morrie had grown old and was dying, but Mitch visited him every Tuesday and talked with him for hours, he was the only person he would look upto.

Tuesdays with Morrie is a magical chronicle of their time together, through which Mitch shares Morrie’s lasting gift with the world.
