Privileging Passion

Just don’t give up trying to do what you really want to do. Where there are love and inspiration, I don’t think you can go wrong.

What is a passion? Does it really need to be build or is someone born with it? Passion is generally defined as a strong interest developed into a being. We have seen many movies which focus on giving importance to the passion of an individual rather than killing it in the shades of societal pressure. Someone likes to sing while someone loves to read. We often categorise these things as our hobbies. Well, you cannot develop your interest in any field other than studying because it is the will of our parents. The fact is that there is a uniqueness in us to which we should give time certainly. And, if we develop an interest in that, it can be our career option one day.

Our mind is like a blank wall which we decide to paint with the career we want to take forward and live our whole life with. Many times, this wall is either painted with the expectations of our parents or our own aspirations or fear for a secure life. There are people around us who are doing things just opposite to their interest areas. Being real, there is no satisfaction in that. Doctors and engineers are not the only people living a good life. There are actors, singers, dancers and artists who are living a luxurious life. But somewhere, they have put their life at a stake. Following something at a time of its non-prevalence is a big decision in itself.

Pursue your passion, and everything else will fall into place. This is not being romantic. This is the highest order of pragmatism.

Privileging your passion is not a big deal at all. What if you start loving whatever you have chosen. It is a positive approach towards your work. You have to cross hurdles and limits. It is sure that you will love the person you become and the destination you reach one day. You have to do something for yourself. It's your life and you have to own meaningful decisions to make it wonderful. It's time to be sensible. It's time to take a stand for your dreams to turn them into reality.

If you don’t love what you do, you won’t do it with much conviction orpassion.
