we are all materialists, to one extensiveness in one way or another. We all use and enjoy material goods in our daily lives, and most of us simply couldn't get relief without them. And there's nothing wrong with that, as long as the desire for material goods doesn't affect us and our actions in negative direction.

Materialism becomes a hurdle when we start allowing things to control us, to keep us enrapt on things outside ourselves rather than on things that would be precisely beneficial to us, such as our self-development, our bonds, our peace of mind. . . .All this should be our first priority.

Materialism creates distraction. After all, if I want to buy closet full of new clothes, all I have to do is pay money or use credit to get them.I know which ones I want, and I know where to find them.Today’s market condition have made it so easy for us to buy that fulfilling our materialistic thirstnever has been easier, which is a very regrettable fact for the millions of people who are now trapped under a mountain of debt with no practical way out. It is human nature for people to wish material possessions. We live In a world where the definition of "socially acceptable" includesthe material possessions one owns such as, the latest clothing, the biggest house, or the latest gadget ,carthis is the reason which inbuilt one to believe that you need all of these things to be viewed as a part of society. All this has a major effect on happiness because at the end of the day you have to sacrifice a lot to get all this .The material possession is directly proportionate to worthiness to stay in society, so to fit themselves into such cryptic norms of standard people are crazy and passionate about material possession.

materialism takes part in every person's life, no matter what social class they belong to. The idea of being materialistic can be considered immoral, but there line between morality and personal interests. It is safe to say that everybody is materialistic to a certain extent, whether it is from buying the same brand of jeans because they fit purchasing a wide variety of hot rods. It is obvious that the latter of the two is the one which can be considered to cross the line. Buying some nice clothes here and there is normal people and everybody does it once in a while. While on the other hand, buying 5 or 6 sportscars can be considered somewhat pretentious. There are many factors that go into a person being immoral based on the materials that they have. Greed and excessive luxuries are what can determine the immorality of a person.
