Why Has F.R.I.E.N.D.S Touched Thousands Of Hearts?

One of the greatest sitcoms of all time, F.R.I.E.N.D.S has definitely secured a place in the hearts of many many people. If you ask anyone what is their favourite sitcom to watch, chances are more than 80% people will name this show on their list. Me? This show will always be on top for me. Even though haters might say this show is overrated, that hasn’t affected its fandom from growing larger. And rightfully so. Here are a few reasons why people can’t stop binge watching this show.

1.Impeccable sense of humor

You won’t go 10 minutes in an episode without laughing, I bet. F.R.I.E.N.D.S is known for its absolutely humorous lines that will make you laugh out loud, literally. The epic one liners will forever be remembered by the fans for sure. “How you doin?”, “PIVOT”, “Salmon skin roll” and many more still replays in our heads from time to time. Although every single episode is funny, here are a few I would like to suggest which will make you go “LMAO” in real life.

S08:E10- “The one with Monica’s boots”

2.Relatable characters

You’ll somehow be able to relate to each of the six characters because they have their own unique personality and at some point of time, you will meet or maybe you have already met someone like them. Monica being someone who’s a cleanliness freak and likes to be in control, Chandler who’s sarcastic as hell but really caring and understanding, Joey- who’s innocently stupid but amazingly selfless and loyal, Ross being a geek with his neverending love for dinosaurs and who’s a great father, Phoebe- who’s weirdly crazy yet kind and finally Rachel- who’s daddy’s little girl and a little spoilt, yet immensely sensitive. These characters will steal your hearts and you won’t be able to decide which of them is your favourite.

3.Important topics addressed

From lesbian relationships, gay parents, adoption, surrogacy, single motherhood to infertility, this show has it all. Even though this show was from the 1990s, it did show many progressive thoughts and in a very beautiful way.

4.It has the right amount of emotions

Apart from being extremely funny, this sitcom has exactly the right amout of emotions too. Here are a few episodes that will definitely make you shed a few tears. And if you’re already a fan, I’m sure you’ll agree.

5.You’ll never get enough of it

Trust me, once is never enough when it comes to F.R.I.E.N.D.S. I have watched each episode more than 50 times and I can’t stop laughing. No wonder this show still airs on Comedy Central. It will always be a classic.

6.The epic friendship

After you’re done watching the entire series you’ll be left with loads of good memories about six friends who always had each other’s backs and were always there for each other. And even though love stories brewed among them too, the friendship never died. The bond between joey and chandler, the bffs that rachel and monica were, the on and off relationship between ross and rachel, the perfect couple goals that chandler and monica were and the immensely cute moments between phoebe and joey- everything will definitely bring a smile to your face.

It’s been more than two decades since F.R.I.E.N.D.S came on air and it still hasn’t lost it’s charm. It still attracts people of all age groups and will continue to do so. It was, is and always be my favourite show ever. If you haven’t already, I suggest do give it a try.
