India has an abundance of wildlife. You will find a variety of wild animals in the jungles of India. Some of them are in abundance, but some are endangered and are on the verge of extinction. India is a land of a variety of wildlife. You will bewildering mix of habitats from lush mangroves to tropical forest, alpine and coniferous forests. If you are traveling in the jungles, you may come around to see an elephant, tigers, one-horned rhinoceros or the Asiatic lions.

Let’s see some of the famous wildlife trails, where you can go and enjoy the Indian wildlife.

Hemis National Park, Jammu and Kashmir

Situated at high altitude in Jammu & Kashmir, is home to many endangered species like Snow Leopard, Asiatic Ibex, Tibetan Wolf, Red Fox, among many. The National Park is a coniferous forest and you will find a lot of pine trees covered with snow. Apart from seeing these mountain animals, you can take a thrilling and adventurous trek at Hemis. You can stay in nearby villages where homestay facilities are available. You must visit Hemis to witness some rare creatures found in India.

Ranthambore National Park, Rajasthan

Once a famous hunting ground for the royalty of Rajasthan now is one of the famous tiger reserves in India. You can enjoy an adventurous safari ride in the jungle and can spot tigers roaming freely in the jungle. You can also watch many migratory birds taking shelter in the jungle. Surrounded by rivers, Ranthambore is a very more special habitat for the wild animals in Rajasthan. The Park remains open from October to June and is closed for the remaining months. You will find tigers, leopards, hyena, birds like flamingos, pelicans, ibis, etc. Apart from the tour of the Park, you can visit nearby places like the Ranthambore Fort, Padam Talao (it is a lake). You will enjoy your time in Ranthambore.

Sunderbans National Park, West Bengal

Sunderbans is a lush, swampy mangrove forest where you will find the royal Bengal tiger roaming freely in the swampy land of West Bengal. You will also see crocodiles, bull sharks, and dolphins swimming in the Ganges. Sunderbans is a natural haven for wildlife. You will find a lot of part in Bangladesh. The best time to visit is between September and May. You can also take a cruise ride and spot the wildlife in the swampy mangrove forests.

Gir National Park, Gujarat

It is famous for its Asiatic Lions found only in Gir, Gujarat. You will spot a bunch of Asiatic lions resting under the shade of a tree in a group. You can take a safari ride and spot them in the jungle. Apart from the king of the jungle, you can find leopards, striped hyenas, sloth bears, snakes, etc. If you want to visit, then go between October to June. The charges for the safari are quite high but it is worth watching the lions upfront and very close.
