A Phobia is a kind of an anxiety that occurs when you dread or fear something or someone. Some phobias like acrophobia and claustrophobia are very common in people. But there have been new phobias emerging that really don’t make sense and you might wanna read each again and again.
Yeah you read that right! There is a phobia that is related to falling asleep. Now this may sound weird to you, but there are people in this world who associate sleep with death therefore they don’t like sleeping. Some somniphobics also fear losing time while sleeping, this just doesn’t make any sense. A person needs to sleep to relax the body for doing effective work. I wonder how these somniphobics do it.
Who is afraid of the fool in the circus that makes everyone laugh? The person who is portrayed happy? Is it even possible? Well it is. There are a fair number of individuals who are genuinely scared of the clown. The fact that their face is painted into that jaw ripping smile is no exception. Children fear them because of the way they are portrayed in movies like IT and Batman. But it sounds really weird to fear a clown.
This is something that caught my attention. India is a country where there is a lot of rainfall, it is surprising that Indians too are affected with this. Causes of this phobia might be the childhood scare your parents gave you for going out in the rain. Like “Beta, don’t you dare go outside, you will get flu”. Another reason that could be, is that rain is associate with gloomy or sad mood. Every time it rains, you will just remember the ‘someone’ that left you last year in the rains.
This may sound weird, but it does exist. People suffering this, develop new phobias every day because they don't want to get a phobia. Their anxiety just increases all day and so do their phobias. The word itself sounds like fear in fear.
It’s a little weird that people can get scared of a number. Now, old beliefs really give you the scare of this number that is considered Ill-starred. Most of the horror films do make use of it like Friday the 13th, which just increases the fear. The fear that it might be possessed by evil spirits. Triskaidekaphobics avoid that number, no matter how old they get, they just don’t consider that number.
