The word sex is considered as a bad word in India. The usage of the words like sex, sex education, sexology are believed to be migrated from western countries. The common problem is people even stare at us when we speak about sex. In our country people are ready have sex but they are not ready to teach their kids about it.

The introduction of sex education in India in the early 90s faced a lot of problems. It was banned in many countries. People were not ready to teach about it.

The first introduction of sex education came to practice to teach people to control population but it was not that successful.

The lack of sex education in India caused a lot of problems like the spread of Sexually Transmitted Diseases in a large amount, increase in population, people getting indulged in sex without knowing about its possible consequences and measures to be taken while doing it. The lack of knowledge affects their whole generation. To know about sex people log into different sites and get different ideas about it. At a particular point they might even get addicted to those movies.

First we must make clear that sex education is not just about sex, but it is about our own body as well. It helps us to practice healthy habits and to stay away from diseases. It helps us to know about the changes happening in our body and trains our mind to accept it. It is essential for adolescent kids who have lots of doubts about their body.

Reproductive system is the chapter which is skipped almost by every biology teacher. They consider it wrong to teach what is given in the book. Teachers think that it is not essential for adolescent kids. This causes lots of misconceptions about the topic. The common misconception is that most of them believe kids are born if parents hug or cuddle.

Sex education is essential for them to come out of these misconceptions. For girls sex education helps them to understand what is good and bad touch. It also helps us to know about the menstrual cycle, about sanitary products and its usage. It teaches us to avoid unwanted sex and practices. It teaches about diseases that spread through sex and their preventive measures. It also helps us to know about contraceptive methods which would avoid unwanted conceiving. Teaching all this to kids would help them know that sex is not a stigma but ignorance is. They must be taught that it is not a myth but its just a biological behaviour.
