Words aren't sufficient enough to describe the beauty of the city of Mysuru, the city previously known as Mysore, lives upto the expectations as to why it's called the cultural capital of India. Here's few definite things that you've to look out for on your next trip to Mysuru

  • Mysuru Palace

It'd be embarrassing if you've visited Mysuru and haven't seen the glorious 'Amba Vilas' palace. The exquisite palace of Wodeyar Dynasty stands and gives sort of an emblem for the Mysoreans; located in the heart of the city, the palace is impeccably beautiful and is vast and wide, spreading across the 4 directions. It's a must visit and favourite hangout spot of all the tourists; don't call yourself a tourist if you haven't posed pointing at the pointed tomb of the palace top!! Mysore dasara of course is the major attractions at the time of October! Make sure you check this out during October, cause it's a complete fun Fest.

  • Chamundi Hills

Ah, of course the favourite hangout spot of mysoreans! The first thing that comes to the Mysorens when they're bored is this point. The top of the hill contains a beautiful temple of 'Chamundeswari', deity of all the Mysoreans. But the best thing about Chamundi hills is not just the temple but a beautiful journey that you get to experience while driving to the peak of the hills. Beautiful viewpoints where you can witness the whole of the Mysuru is just incredible

  • Jagan Mohan Palace

Mysuru, is the city of palaces, royal city indeed. And needless to say, the city is filled with palaces; one of which is Jagan Mohan Palace or better known as Jagan Mohan art galleria. This palace was built as an alternative stay for the royal family members while the main palace was under construction. This beautiful palace is filled with variety of painting and canvas of major artists such as Raja Ravi Varma. As bonus if you're lucky, you'll also get to enjoy the evening entertainment in the royal auditorium attached adjacent to the palace.

  • Mysuru Zoo

Prepare yourself for a long walk if you are planning to go here, this zoo is one of the best experience for the flora and fauna lovers, where you're welcomed by the long necked Giraffes! It's best experienced when walked through out the zoo rather than opting for the rental vehicles! Wildlife ranging from Lion, tiger and leopards to deadly Anacondas. There are few endangered species that you need to look out for. At the end of the day, it might also interest you in adopting few animals! You never know!

  • Kukkaralli and karanji lakes

Few spectacular lakes in the city of Mysuru drags all the joggers and walkers to its lair! It's beautifully maintained with an excellent bird watching facility. Boating comes extra with the botanical gardens! A must watch for all the bird lovers and nature lovers! Make sure it's on your list the next time you visit here.

The list wouldn't be enough if I am to list all the tourists spots of Mysuru! There are few other minor museums as well, and an amusement park, and few other attractive tourist locations in and around Mysuru such as KRS dam which is extremely delightful at night, with all the dancing and decorated fountains and neatly maintained botanical park. Few other destinations such as Tipu Summer palace and few other spots around make Mysuru one of the favourite destinations of the tourists, this bringing larger tourist revenue contributing the financial development of the nation.
