Ashish Vidyarthi is an actor who is famous for playing negative roles in Bollywood. He has also worked in a few south films.

On one such trip to South when he arrived at Chennai airport, he saw a man holding a placard which read 'Aziz Vidyanidhi'. He went and asked that man if he meant 'Ashish Vidyarthi'. The man asked him if he is a Bollywood actor to which Ashish replied 'yes '. So the man asked him to sit in the car. But Ashish felt insulted and pondered over this incident. Is it worth doing so many films and yet get no recognition?

He felt tired after playing the villain in all his films. So he eventually decided to change his career and is now a successful motivational speaker. He used his experiences from the film industry as anecdotes to encourage people to do better in their lives.

So, if the decision to change the field of interest or profession is beneficial to someone, why does our society criticize these decisions?

Why are they called as unreliable? That too when this decision is not causing harm to anyone! We should infact encourage this decision because if someone’s not able to contribute to their industry happily, what are we going to achieve as a society?

There are so many engineers in our country. Majority of them have chosen engineering out of parental pressure or simply because they had no idea about any other field. For 4 years they have to undergo the torture of studying subjects that they are least interested in. Then their parents try to use their influence to get a job for their kids. Eventually, they land up in bank jobs, or in other jobs which have got nothing to do with engineering. And ofcourse, there are many who remain unemployed!

If we support a student's career choice from the beginning and encourage them to do better in the field of their choice, they will always succeed and be happy about it.

It's not just about happiness but also job satisfaction and respect. If either of the two is compromised, then the person is bound to quit his job and look for something else. It is a part of human nature and there is nothing wrong about it.

Let people do what they like. Live and let live!
