How often are we complicit to our lives being sucked into an endless vortex of a world that makes us feel like we aren't doing enough? The entire population of the earth and not one of us are content with what we call life. You can choose to be an isolated monk or a nun, but that's rarely living, that is wanting to shut yourself off in the confines of a 'living' museum; it's always hard to be completely happy, and every day, people place survival over any happiness like some unwritten ordinance.

If you have ever traveled via public transport during office hours, the dread and boredom on the faces of people going back to their homes after long hours of duty is a sight not very different from that in the movie Zombieland. It's evident that what I'm putting forward is commonplace and pessimistic, but I'd rather be cynical than naïve or gullible. What can we do break the confines of the alarm clock, the desk job, the weight loss, and the exhausted energy of everyone surrounding us?

We have to invest in the little things then because almost all of the big things in life are predetermined and you have no control over them despite wanting to. It makes a huge difference to start some mindful practices so that you can be healthy and happy and ready to add some flavor in your life if it seems to be consistently dull.

My first tip comes from a personal experience and is linked to the previous article I wrote: the art of de-cluttering, letting go of material possessions and cleaning up your space or your environment, if you're a messy person you can devote some time every week to fix the things that you couldn't handle during the busy weekdays. For example, every Sunday morning, my family tries to make the best by doing all sorts of cleaning duties, and it makes the rest of the week stress-free. If you are discouraged and need a push, feel free to check out some Youtube tips on organizational hacks or crank up some music and set your phone aside to do your designated deep-cleaning.

Reset your room- Right now, you may think that your room looks great and feels great too, but a little Feng-shui now and then does not hurt. If you’re a teenager or are in your 20s, redecorating your room with fairy lights, a house plant, some posters of your favorite movie or music, Polaroids and maybe a clothes rack can do wonders in increasing the aesthetic appeal, as well as having a designated color theme. This makes your room look and feels satisfactory; it also gives you better vibes. Scented candles are a fantastic way to de-stress and calm your body. (French vanilla is top-notch if you care for my opinion)

Self-care- I cannot stress this more, self-care, as has been advertised, is very important. To love and care for your body and your mental health is to heal yourself step by step. A beginner at self-care must know that self-care isn't just about buying tons of skin products just for the social media play (guilty), or shaving your legs! It's so much more, and one needs to focus more on mental well being simultaneously taking care of your physical self.

Journaling- Working through the days with your schedules and infinite work to do can often make you weary or can mess up your brain in such a way that you feel wrecked and messy. To jot all of those pent up feelings down in a journal can make things much more manageable and bullet journaling scores point too if you like to get extra creative.

There are a lot of other aims that can be fulfilled if we take the step that is required to make the change and all of them are way too detailed to jot down here; therefore, I will prescribe more, shortly if possible. For now, you can start with these tips, and I know it may not be life-changing, but it will make you feel better. I promise, so go on ahead and start!
