Hello Potter-heads! Get ready to wave your wands, don your cloaks and say 'up' to get your magical brooms levitate into your hands. This is a wanna be Successful novel that fails to serve its purpose. Harry "the boy who lived" has become "the boy who aged". Some people might find this book as a good read, but nonetheless in my opinion it is not as good as I had expected. Although this is a story that belongs to J.K.Rowling. Jack Thorne, the visionary playwright has compiled this novel into a play along with John Tiffany. This book is divided into two parts with each part containing four acts and that acts are subdivided into several scenes( like in skits). It is in such a way that if they want to make a movie about it(which they definitely will), directors won't even need to resort with screenwriters. Even a 9-year old could read this book without breaking a sweat. Everything is articulated well in this book. The one that I read was a special Rehearsal edition. Don't worry, I am not going spoil much from this book. Let's move in to the plot, shall we?

Plot summary:

The story starts with ( assuming that you have seen the movie or read 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows') a time shift of nineteen years after the battle of Hogwarts. Harry has aged as a 37-year-old man, who now works for the Ministry of Magic. His son Albus Severus Potter, a 11-year-old boy who is about to attend Hogwarts. The novel kicks off right where Albus boards into the Hogwarts express along with that same stereotypical trios from the previous book. Rose Granger weasely, now a pure blood who is more brilliant like her mother Hermione Granger and half dumb like his father Ron weasely gets acquainted with Albus. Unfortunately, Albus gets sorted into the Slytherin house during sorting ceremony, where he befriends Scorpius Malfoy, son of Draco Malfoy. Now, you may wonder why, but Scorpius is a good kid unlike his father. Delphi Diggory, cousin to Cedric Diggory joins their group.

Together, they travel back in time to Tri-wizard tournament period and unravel the mysteries about Time Turner and the person who is trying to bring back YOU KNOW WHO(Voldemort) to life. Yup, time travel in a fantasy book. There are many twists and turns at the end that will leave you enthralled and overwhelm you with emotions. Did they succeed in the end? What happened to the Time Turners?Does albus lived to tell the tale? forms the rest of the story.

“When spares are spared, when time is turned, when unseen children murder their fathers: Then will the Dark Lord return.”(Prophecy)

Why you should read this book:

  • If you are a potter-head, you should definitely check this one out.

  • Honestly, you would feel gratified and worn out by wistful thoughts when you read through the book. Some of your Nostalgic memories will stride into a canal after reading this.

  • This book caters well only to those who've experienced the movies and not the books and the plot might seem a little succinct, nonetheless, just swing your wands, say 'avada kedavara' and kill those who criticise it.

  • This book has a phenominal ending that is going to leave readers with tears. Only one question arises in my mind(why this boy has to suffer so much? What kind of bad deed did he do to deserve it?)

Reader's mean thoughts while reading

Does Hermione and Harry hook up in this book? I would dig this big time if they had. That would be the epic scene of all time, if they adapt this into a movie.(sadly no)

Have a happy reading!
