A sport is only called a sport when there is proper support. When there is required and appropriate support , a sport can be played in a way it is to be played.

Support is considered as the "BACKBONE" for a sport to be a success. A sport only achieves success when a lot of people take interest in it. A lot of people participate and play the sport. When a lot of people discuss about the sport. That is when the sport receives recognition. That is when the sport is valued.

A sport without support is a Baby without a walker. Imagine a small baby who is just learning how to walk. The baby will definitely require a walker to learn walking properly. That's what support does to a sport. It helps the sport gain recognition.

When we talk about the sport , we talk about the sportsmen playing it. The biggest support to the sportsmen in the sport can be given by their Coach itself.

A coach is a sportsman's support. A coach teaches a sportsman about the sport. It is because of the coaches that's the sportsmen are what they are besides their hardwork.

A coach teaches a sportsman it's good and bad. A coach teaches what the sport is about. No matter how big the player becomes in his career , he stays the same for his or her coach.

But here in West Bengal , it's a different story Altogether. A coach has threatened his team to make them go bald if they lose the match of Hockey.

This story goes back to West Bengal where in The Bengal U-19 was playing against the Namdhari XI and lost to the Namdhari XI , 1-5 in the quarter final of the Junior National Championship ( B division) in Jabalpur.

Coach Anand Kumar had allegedly told the players during half time that he will have their heads tonsured if they lost.

While some members of the squad said they did it after returning to Kolkata , out of respect and disappointment , a few said they were forced.

The U-19 squad comprised 18 players and it was learnt that all of them except two had shaved their heads. A dozen of player's we're from SAI's Eastern regional Centre at Salt lake.

"I scolded them during the match and never said anything after that. Why will I force them? I will talk to the players about what happened. I did not get a chance to speak to them as I am in the hospital for my wife", the coach said.

The Bengal Hockey Association (BHA) will form a three member committee to look into the matter of U -19 players being asked to shave their heads following a defeat in a match.

Just because a coach teaches the player how to play , they don't have any rights to torture the players. Any kind of mental and physical assault or forcing them to do so which may cause any harm or degrade their image is not acceptable
