Humanities, a conventional stream in India yet is considered very challenging. Often, students find it intimidating, interesting and relevant. What Matters is not one's score but one's interest for selection[1].

Conventionally, Humanities as a stream is considered a collection of subjects that cannot be fitted into either Science or Commerce in India. Gender bias has also played a pivotal role in moulding students into making a choice of stream after matriculation[2].

Interestingly, history has witnessed humanities as the most sought after stream until two centuries back when the discoveries in the field of science made it the most cumbersome stream ultimately crowning it the title[3].

What matters is not the debate between two, what matters is understanding the relevance of each where both hold significant role in shaping the society as well as hold stark differences. Indeed, in Indian society often exposure to humanities is minimal depending where one is staying and where and how is it getting educated[4].

The starking differences between the two holds a key significance as well. Humanities is associated with Social sciences, Literature and Art making it more relevant in terms of understanding the society whereas Science plays a role in making lives easier, convenient and safer by means of innovation and commerce holds a significant role in ensuring the society keeps running.

The standardisation of Education has ensured one's exposure to a variety of subjects. Surprisingly, it has left one more confused about its inclinations. The taboos, myths associated with each regarding their scope play a key role in moulding children into one direction.

In such cases, what matters is sticking to the reality by means of knowledge and exposure. Enlightening one is extremely important. The reality is not the scope predicted but what works for each which could be realised with time. Every delay is indeed, a blessing!

Dwelling into scope, relevance and career prospects - what's relevant is what one does and most importantly what one learns which decides everything!

It isn't fair to subjectify and objectify streams with little knowledge creating an absolute chaos by validating various myths and taboos associated with each.
