By this time you must be familiar with the show Game of Thrones if not you should just leave everything right now and start binging it ... Is what you must have heard from every avid GOT watcher or caught yourself saying if you are one of them. It surely is a phenomenal that takes everyone who comes under it by a storm and keeps them wanting for more. With an astounding IMDB rating of 9.5 and 90% Rotten Tomatoes any outsider who looks into it would surely be tempted to watch it.

It probably needs no further introduction as about every third meme is related to it but still to put why its so overwhelmingly popular is how it doesn't follow the typical stories norm. It thrives on killing one of its main character every now and then which makes it so different and hence popular. The hero doesn't always happily reach home in the end or sometimes doesn't reach home at all (Valar Morghullis). The writer of the book it is portrayed from, George RR Martin is always called a sadist for hurting the fans by killing their favourite characters but its his element and he takes great pride in it and the fans takes great joy in the near around perfect combination of emotionally thrilling and action packed drama with bits of little Bit High nudity and jokes between them. The political side of it is beyond amazing and entertaining with plot twists every other episodes and huge range of well developed and interesting characters played and complimented by great acting. It is a fantasy fiction yet feels so real. You get involved so much so that you feel what a characters feels and literally scream when a character you love dies. The show has ghazillion number of fan following which nit picks and theorises everything they find out of ordinary and the show still manages to outsmart or discard them all with even better story arch.

Post GEORGE RR MARTIN

As the show is based on the novels The Winds of Winter, The Ice Dragon, Fire in the Blood by GRRM, he hasnt published the complete series, the show is left the novel story in the sixth season itself. After that that the seventh and eighth seasons are written independently from GRRM which clearly shows. The writing hasn't been upto the mark since, and people are not liking it. The outrage is only ever increasing with every episode and surged at an alarming rate in the latest eighth season.

Spoiler alert! Spoiler alert! Spoiler alert!
Taking the latest eighth season for instance most fans didn't liked the third episode The long Night where we see the last of night king and less of everything due to dark for which not only poor writing but bad cinematography is also to be blamed. It doesnt hold the standard they have set for themselves. Even in the fourth episode, the dying of Rhaegal, one of two remaing dragon barely makes sense as a fleet of thousand ships cant take someone by surprise especially when they are flying by a stone age weaponry. The fifth episode also seemed somewhat forced. Summing up after the sixth season there have been huge plotholes that cant be ignored and all in all not satisfying at all. The lazy writing is becoming the downfall of one of the most popular series and this is getting worse by every episode. What makes it worse for the fans is, it is the last season of GOT and no one wants to remember something they so deeply enjoyed tearing itself apart. The outrage it is suffering is justified. So here we come at the end of the article. Hope you enjoyed!
