What it is about Cars?

Be it a comedy, an action or a romantic movie, we have seen cars flying from one place to another in Rohit Shetty's movies. His movies are incomplete without stunts. It seems as if cars beautify and glorify his movies.

We know that Rohit Shetty is an Action Director. But he has also tried his hands in other genres which has given him a high success rate in Bollywood.

He is the son of legendary stuntsman M.B Shetty, who was as popular as Shetty. We now know that he is carrying forward his father's legacy. There is a special place in his heart for cars as in his movies, atleast one car rolls over either on the road or in air. This is the speciality of Rohit Shetty. He involves his fans in his movies which are full of thrill and excitement. People love it when hero flies over the villain in his car and attack him. Or he picks up a knife from the road in a moving car with one hand on the steering wheel and one over the knife (Chennai Express).

And he deserves all the credits for performing such stunts with perfection. He puts lot of hardwork along with his team in order to make the stunt a success. It is a risky affair as you would be held accountable for any mishappening on the sets.

Why Rohit is best in this Business?

His debut film was Zameen in 2003 which did an average business. But in 2006, he gave us a blockbuster hit Golmaal: Fun Unlimited. It was one of the best comedy films of that time. Even in this film, we saw cars colliding with each other. This movie has a separate fan base till now as the action, comedy and entertainment was of top notch. With this movie, it was clear that Shetty can easily blend his forte (action) with any genre.

Some of his blockbuster films are Golmaal Returns, Sunday, All The Best, Golmaal 3, Singham, Bol Bachchan, Chennai Express, Singham Returns, Dilwale, Golmaal Again and Simmba. One thing common in these films was that the action scenes were so perfectly done. This is only beacuse of Rohit's love for cars. He loves his cars more than his co-actors and actresses. He makes sure that every stunt which involves tossing of cars or any jump of the actors is done with all the safety precautions.

I personally liked the Singham series. The story and direction was overwhelming. Also the cast with Ajay Devgn in the lead role. But the best thing was how amazingly the stunt and action scenes were shot. There were around 100 Police vehicles which were moving altogether to catch the villain( Jaikant Shigde) at the end. In addition to this, the action of the movie was classy. Rohit took care of everything while shooting these scenes.

In Dilwale too, Rohit showed his obsession for cars. He made the protagonists SRK & Varun Dhawan- car modifiers. This movie was full of cars which were beautifull. Some of them were actually modified. He showed a fleet of cars in the song Manma Emotion which attracted the viewers.

We can expect many more films where this obsession could be taken to another level.

Rohit's fleet of Cars

He is not only famous for blowing up cars in his films but has a passion of owning quite a few ridiculously expensive cars. These include Ford Mustang GT, BMW 7 Series, Land Rover, Maserati GT Sport and Mercedes G Wagon. The approximate cost of his cars is around 8 crores. This shows his love for cars is not only bound to the sets but also to his home.

He truly is one of the most popular masala filmmakers of Bollywood. All his stunts are real. There are real cars which gets blown up. His team works tirelessly to perform each stunt. We can give him credits for all the stuff we see in his movies.

His upcoming movie Sooryavanshi is an action packed film which will be releasing on 2020. Some of the clips of this movie has been shared on social media. We can see Rohit Shetty and Akshay Kumar in middle of a blast of two cars. This increases the curiosity among the fans as how much entertaining will it be.

When asked about why he blows up so many cars in his movies, he said that he feels so sad when he sees audience laughing at those gravity defying stunts. It takes a whole team to create and improvise the stunt which is not an easy task.

No matter what, we love to watch cars and other vehicles tossing in air or colliding with each other in his movies. Keep up the good work, Rohit!
